A second iteration of part of the Space Mountain attraction has been installed at Magic Kingdom Park, unifying the futuristic theme across Tomorrowland.

Space Mountain-Style Update in Tomorrowland

In early March, Walt Disney World Resort installed another Space Mountain-style attraction sign in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom Park. This time, though, the white spires are pointing to a different ride: Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. The 27-year-old interactive Disney Park attraction closed in early August 2025 for an overhaul and technical update.

On March 10, WDWMAGIC shared this photo of the new sign in front of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. It features the same white spires as the Space Mountain sign (inspired by the iconic roller coaster building) and an outer-space-themed background.

The new marquee is now installed at Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. It features a Space Mountain-style white spire with digital wait time clocks beneath. Just the attraction name text still needs to be added. Full details in the comments.

As of now, Walt Disney World Resort has not painted the “Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin” logo on the sign, leaving the iconic Toy Story (1995) character out of the entrance to his namesake attraction.

In 2025, Walt Disney World Resort announced plans to upgrade Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at Magic Kingdom Park with more interactive targets, improved blasters, and all-new ride vehicles. The updated attraction will feature updated props and a new audio-animatronic robot character named Buddy, who teaches guests how to use their astro blasters.

On March 12, Walt Disney World Resort revealed that the reimagined Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin would premiere at Magic Kingdom Park on April 8, 2026. The updated Tomorrowland ride features several Easter eggs, including references to the upcoming Pixar film Toy Story 5 (2026).
