Comments for Disney Continues to Remove Foreign Cultures From Disney Parks in Conservative State

The image shows a picturesque area featuring tall wooden totem poles and intricate carvings on a wooden structure, reminiscent of a forgotten park. In the background, there's a castle-like stone building under a partly cloudy sky, with trees flanking the sides. A few people are seen walking in the distance.

  1. Whatever

I find it ridiculous and appalling that you make this a political thing, bringing up the fact several times that Florida is a conservative state. How about being a real journalist and leaving politics out of something that it doesn’t even involve. Maybe then your work will be taken seriously.

    1. Cdy

      Exactly

      1. mike

        right on

    2. Rox

      100% right. Stop the nonsense.

    3. Carol McL

      100% AGREE!
      Nothing to do with Politics.

It all boils down to getting park visitors to spend more money!

Taking away Ice wine availability from being purchased at Trading Post, leads me to think that it will be “suggested” to restaurant patrons, at a cost that’s going to be more than what was offered at Trading Post.

      Just my honest opinion.

evidently this person has a mental illness – just one of many. Look for her name in the future in headlines. Truly a disgusting assertion. I thought this board was about Disney and not the delusional musings of liberal white women.

    5. CJ

Totally agree!!! Thank you for calling these bleeding heart liberals out.

      1. ASJ

I think it’s less about pushing liberal ideas and more about trying to manufacture clickable content for their blog, with a topic that could’ve been written about in one sentence.

    6. Just Wow

I’m in agreement with you. This is not about the politics. In all fairness if you are an APH and go there often you would see that the one in Canada has had hardly no use. It’s not utilized as much as you would think. I hardly see anyone go in there and buy drinks. On occasions you will see a line but for the most part it’s not. Not as busy as let’s say . . . The fish n chips line down the way.

    7. AB

Right?!?! Disgusting and reallllllly stretching to fit their “activism” into a place it doesn’t exist.

    8. Andro

I took it seriously, and you being butthurt that there may be a connection shows there likely is a connection. EVERYONE visiting from outside of Florida is sick of Florida poking their nose in Disney and bullying the company. It’s truly made visiting there and spending money not something that interests me anymore. If the people are satisfied, and conservatives are always screaming “let the market decide”, them why meddle?

  2. JJ

One could just as easily argue that leftists, like the ones who mostly run Disney, want to erase heritage and culture by advocating open borders and rampant illegal immigration. Conservatives are more likely to value uniqueness and celebrate individual cultures. In other words, your point makes no sense, stay away from flimsy political points.

    1. Tired0fThisCrap

“Conservatives are more likely to value uniqueness and celebrate individual cultures”?
You mean the same conservatives that pitched a hissy fit over the super bowl halftime show?

      1. Rodger

Because the Superbowl halftime was offensive, you twit

    2. sam

thank you for illustrating exactly why politics shouldn’t be injected into discussion.

first of all, it was a business decision. while it is possible that the business decision fell to political reasons, the most likely scenario is simply down to ROI. dollars and cents. how much does it cost to run the attraction, and how much do they make running the attraction.

for most attractions it’s a simple counter of people who attend the attraction, for something like this, it’s down to sales. if they aren’t selling product, then the staff, supply chain, and all the backend that goes into support of that attraction is a red line in their spreadsheet.

that is the most logical answer, to suggest that it’s politically motivated by whatever opposing political party you don’t personally ascribe to is just outright silly.

  3. Rob

In addition to the needless political spi this site comtinues to push… We must remind ourselves that every part of Disney parks, large and small are a buisness. It is possible this offering was no longer profitable and had to go.

    1. Jaya

This is absolutely political and about money! Hello Tariffs! While the senate voted for some tariffs to be taken away not all have. Meanwhile in Ontario there’s a war with Crown Royal. It is possible Canadian suppliers are no longer supplying or Disney is no longer buying.

BTW as a Canadian, I don’t know anyone that puts maple on their popcorn

      1. Mark

Everything Disney does is about profit these days, and is stereotypically Disneyfied. Are tariffs an issue, unlikely. For example, the Canadian beer I can get is the same price is has been for a while.

  4. Real Star Wars

    Typical leftist propaganda

Refurbishments take place all the time

Profit vs cost is always on the Disney agenda
    This is trash reporting

    1. Just Wow

      Agreed!

    2. RandyC

      Exactly.

  5. Pssd

The loss of American culture with the removal of Rivers of America in a Conservative state is quite noticeable. Frontierland is likely going away.

  6. Mark Simpson

Give most of these “cultural” features were at best sad stereotypes and at worst totally unethical cultural appropriation, I think this is one time left wingers can agree with MAGAs and say losing these so-called “attractions” is actually a good thing.

Either rebuild in genuine cooperation or not bother at all.

    1. Kevin

If a Democrat were in office, that’s how this would have been reported. But since a Republican is in office, we get more virtue signaling chicken little bullshit. This is exactly why I stopped voting Democrat. I don’t even agree with Republican views on abortion, international policy, or social convention. But rule of law, cultural normative, and fair reporting mean far more to me.

      1. Andro

        You never voted Democrat. lol

  7. Haha nope

Soon it will be Donald Trump World.

    1. Rodger

Good, then it will actually be worth visiting and Demoncr@ps will stay away 👍🏻

      1. Andro

Disney knows Democrats make and spend FAR more money.

  8. Jon

This “story” is ridiculous. You took routine attraction refurbishments and tried to make it political. That’s pathetic.

  9. Francine

Nothing to do with politics all about money Am I one of the few who believe you don’t need alcohol to have a great time ? What are people doing drinking being around family people with small kids and babies everywhere anyway ? it is supposed to be a park Not a bar or nightclub if you can’t last without grabbing one that’s a bigger problem than the parks can handle Try and remember you are there to create memories explore adventure Not to get sloshed Wrong place for that with all due respect

    1. Andro

Then go home, or stay out of Epcot. I got one enjoy stopping for a beer. It’s refreshing and helps with foot pain after being on your feet for hours at a time.

  10. Oh please

The jerk who wrote this writes for Disney. They’re a Disney adult, aka a blue haired leftist who sits around drinking out of his Stitch cup and lives off Disney +; of COURSE they’re going to make their @rticles political so they can slam the conservative right anywhere they can, what did you expect? Libtards are the ones who make everything political so they can spew their hatred on everyone. It’s their nature.

    1. Andro

And you just proved this person right with your libtard drivel.

  11. CA

I took my kids to Disney when they were teenagers and they loved the rides but the best day for me was when we went to Epcot. It was a longtime dream of mine, and part of that was because of the multicultural opportunities. While we knew they were “disneyfied” it was still really cool (and we went during a festival where it was packed with extras). I hope these are just “blips” while refurbishing or reimagining and they will come back with new and exciting things for guests.

  12. Eiki

I promise you these closures have nothing to do with Florida politics and everything to do with Disney leadership, which has been dumbing-down EPCOT for decades entirely on its own authority.

    1. Andro

I disagree it has “nothing” to do with Florida, but you are correct in some your conclusion. I think it’s a bit of both. Right now, If bet some of this is profit driven. The last CEO would have bankrupted them with streaming if he hadn’t been ousted. But I’d this is too make money of the parks, that’s a mistake too. Because we’ve stopped going altogether over the process. When I can vacation in actual Europe cheaper than visiting fake Europe, there’s a problem.

      1. Mark

Everything Disney does lately is about making more money. Think Disney Magical Express.

  13. Angie D

I like American culture the best. I’ll travel to experience other cultures but it’s ok by me to remove their culture. Let’s keep ours….and Disney world itself it American culture.

  14. CAT

This has nothing to do with the State of Florida. Disney makes its own decisions for what food, beverage, entertainment, ride, etc., options it puts in its parks. It’s all about economics. Tariffs have made all imported products more costly, and Disney obviously wasn’t making the money it needed to keep the Trading Post open.

  15. Mark

Way to go InsidetheMagic, use Disney’s own refurbishments and cut-backs meant to get us to spend even more money to make a political statement. And as for cultural experiences, most of what you get at anything other than the top tier restaurants is variations on the typical fast food.

  16. Lauren

I’m sick and tired of this nonsense. Disney is suppose to be a magical place not a political arena!!!!!!

  17. Anthony

It’s called World Showcase for a reason! 🙄
