Walt Disney World Resort appears to be doing some construction near a former merchandise kiosk associated with the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Here’s everything we know about the project and how it could impact your next visit to the third Central Florida Disney park.

This week, Walt Disney World Resort guests arrived at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to find potential construction underway near a former merchandise kiosk next to Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular!. The area hasn’t been used to sell Indiana Jones merchandise since before the COVID-19 pandemic forced the closure of Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. A prop truck once occupied the area and was removed around the same time. Most recently, the site has been used for outdoor snack and beverage vending carts.

BlogMickey was the first to report construction in the area on March 17. A net that formerly covered the area and a digital tip board screen with attraction wait times had been removed, and rolling planters typically used to hide ongoing projects at the Disney parks had been installed. The outlet shared this photo on Facebook:

On March 18, WDWNT also shared a Facebook photo from the alleged construction site near Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The only traces of the merchandise kiosk left are some wooden posts that once held up the missing net and a prop shed. Interestingly, Disney removed only the screen from the digital tip board, leaving the themed wooden frame.

Walt Disney World Resort has not commented publicly on the construction project or given a completion timeline. The nearby Backlot Express Quick-Service dining location and the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! continue operating normally, though the latter is still performing without the iconic 400-pound boulder special effect after a Disney cast member was injured last year.
