I know this is just an article and somebody’s conjecture. However, if Sony decides to reboot their Spider-Man universe and fails to include an actual Spider-Man in the movies, they’re in for a rude awakening. They will have made the same dumb mistake all over again.
Now I’m not sure whether the appearing Spider-Man needs to be. Tom Holland or if they can convincingly put another actor in as Spider-Man, but failing to feature the key character in that character’s universe is just plain stupidity.
Should have known, it’s all that any of these studios can do anymore, remake, reboot or reset, they can’t ever continue anything or keep building within. Resetting and rebooting and remaking doesn’t work at all, they don’t make any more money at all other than wasting millions and millions of dollars on Characters that they have already rebooted and restarted over and over. Superhero films are no longer fun and exciting, especially when they have hacked up the same character over and over, at least Disney/Marvel continues, even when they soft reboot they still continue with whatever story they left off from no matter how bad the movie was. WB/DC have ruined the DC characters like Superman and Batman, over and over. Tom Holland was the third rebooted Spider-Man, he starting to catch Batman.
Dear Sony, no one is interested in your reboot. You have consistently put out garbage. You have turned Spider-man’s Rogues gallery into a joke of the lowest common denominator.
Just sell the rights back to Marvel
I am waiting for the day Spiderman finally goes home. And DC too could also be home with the MCU. The reboots will lose more fans than they can gain. What watchers actually want is seeing someone familiar along with someone/something new.
Seriously, if they want to continue the universe, everyone would love to see Andrew Garfield’s story continue. Those standalone Spider-man films can be like the Pattinson Batman films. It would be the smartest move they could make if they want to keep Spider-man. Holland goes to the MCU…Garfield is Sony. Have their movies come out alternate years. Use the villains Sony already has…Morbius, Venom, Kraven. USE COMIC ACCURATE STORY LINES TO MAKE SCRIPTS. Sony and Marvel are both cinematic winners.
Sony do not hire B and C actors, no more Jared Leto or Dakota Johnson. Hire better writers or don’t attempt to reboot anything, or it’s a waste of money.

Agreed. Whoever came up with that dumb idea needs to be demoted, if they haven’t been already.

Reboots, reboots, and more reboots! Oversaturation! I’ve had enough of Spider-Man. Good bye!!
