The Jungle Cruise is just fine. Yes, the hardware could use an update. In today’s world, most children have no idea what the characters or scenes represent. Back in the 50’s movies like The African Queen, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea, and Swiss Family Robinson were familiar and recent. The Disney Twenty Thousand Leagues Submarine ride is gone, and Swiss Family Robinson really should go. Maybe the Robinson tree house could become something else, like the tree house from Tarzan? Or tie it into something new from a future motion picture we don’t know yet. In any case, the Jungle cruise is the icon, but it isn’t relevant to the world today. I was on the ride for the first time at WDW in 1978 and saw the ride often on the Disney TV shows going back to the opening of Disneyland. There is no connection like that today. With my 70 years of park history (I watched the Disneyland opening on TV in 1955) I think the best future for The Jungle Cruise should highlight its own legacy. Embellish and build the story. Keep the jokes, animals, and the back side of water. “What if” the cruise was a Disney cruise? Disney has cruising. Could the little cruise highlight the big cruise destinations? Or if the cruise took you on the traditional ride, except you could be on the waterways of Walt Disney World. With projections that include back grounds as if you were on the historic Swan Boats. When you went into the cave it was more like the past Jungle Cruise movie or it could turned into a cruise down a Main Street replica? Maybe the guys on the pole escaping the Rhino could be Goofy and Donald Duke? The idea is to expand the ride, but leave the iconic history. Just a few ideas.

Why can’t they update it with the Zootopia characters. After all it’s a very popular movie and seeing those characters along the cruise would really be fun.
The new animatronics could make this a new & popular ride,

I still feel like calm and quiet and classic is not such a bad thing. (I may have just described myself lol) but seriously every minute of the day doesn’t have to be a thrill ride. At least not for me. And this ride still has one of the longest wait times.

I totally agree. I have seen too many relaxing and entertaining rides and shows disappear at both Disney & Universal- I don’t understand this new thinking that everything has to be a thrill ride or a roller coaster. Keeping at least some legacy attractions is comforting for longtime guests.
