I think you’re missing the point. George Lucas’ vision was never a strict morality play. Forgiveness and redemption (by definition undeserved), reconciliation of fractured families, and healing generational trauma were always more important than Jedi dogma.
Bringing Ben Solo back so he could have the future Leia wanted for him lines up with that. Abrams kept pitching him as the “Prodigal Son” probably knowing full well he alluded to an extremely well known Biblical parable where the villain is redeemed and doesn’t have to die for it.
I would watch any film that brings back Ben Solo on repeat!! Adam Driver is an extraordinary actor, for starters. But as an OG Star Wars fan since 1977, I was appalled that they gave the only child of Han and Leia and Luke’s only descendant such a depressing end. George Lucas has always said that Star Wars is at its core meant to be about HOPE. Ben Solo, as portrayed by Adam Driver, has so much untapped potential as a character. Personally, I think Iger and Bergman at Disney were insane for turning down The Hunt for Ben Solo, esp given that Lucasfilm was all for it.
They will make reylo money all they have to do is give us the movie. And they can have kids at some point in future or their descendants as they had kids.

“a Reylo movie” – he was interested in being in the film he developed for several years with Stephen Soderbergh.
After being totally screwed over by Iger and Alan B…he’s got zero interest in returning now. He’s done if it’s not THFBS.
The Rey movie has been cancelled which is why Daisy keeps dancing around questions while out promoting her new movie. I hear all of the SW films are canx (hence why James Mangold signed a deal with Paramount) it will be up to the new leaders of LF and Disney to figure out the future.
