I wish people would stop with the “superhero fatigue” B.S. That’s just bad reporting, since that’s not a thing. As another, here, said, it’s bad writing, and unnecessary changes that alienated fans of Marvel. The problem is that, even with changes like that, it could still work. Take the Ben Affleck Daredevil movie, for example: the failure of the movie wasn’t due to Michael Clarke Duncan being Kingpin. In fact, that was a big draw to the movie. The problem was in the writing. The same has happened in Disney Marvel stories, which partially started in Endgame, and just became progressively worse. The big backlog of series to watch didn’t help, of course, either, but that’s not Superhero Fatigue. That’s Nonsense Fatigue.
Personally, I like to go watch most new big movies first in Dolby Cinema for the HDR and Atmos experience. So I typically will miss out a movie in Imax unless it was fully 100% filmed with Imax cameras in the ratio. Then I’ll opt for that. I feel as though having a staggered IMAX release for Doomsday would benefit it- many ppl will feel like its worth going a 2nd time to watch it because now theres “more” of the movie to be seen with the expanded ratio. This could prove to be in the movie’s box office favor. Go watch on release in normal rooms/Dolby…then come back 3 weeks later to watch it in Imax.
