Message for the new CEO: Retain the elements of a WDW experience that establish and reinforce the emotional connection for all Guests. At one time making the emotional connection was a key part of your culture and business strategy. It influenced everything you did. Walt knew this is how you create a WOW experience and retain Guest loyalty. Get back to what you were the absolute best at doing. Tell the bean counters to look elsewhere. I would suggest retiring CEO’s salary and bonus is a good place to start.
The issue of repainting the castle is a stupid excuse to cut the show – cut more events. Disney could do something different: put up a temporary stage out from the castle (as done with holiday shows), or floats out front of the castle & do a little something. Just ditching it is pretty bad. Another cut to guest experience & Iger’s bigger income.
