Disneyland Resort hasn’t specified an end date for this closure. However, the Southern California Disney park filed construction permits late last year, hinting at what it plans to update inside the hotel bar.
What’s Going to Change?

In October 2025, Disneyland Resort filed construction permits for the exact address of Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar at the Disneyland Hotel. The permit entry read:
DLH – Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar – Tenant Improvement: Replace (42) gas tiki torches with epoxy anchors at exterior. Install air conditioner at electrical room. Replace interior show effects, show lighting and lighting systems. With mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
Some of the most iconic parts of Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar are the tiki torches, simulated rainstorms, and other special effects behind the bar area. It’s unclear whether the plan to “replace interior show effects, show lighting, and lighting systems” listed in the construction permit indicates that Disneyland Resort will simply replace outdated parts or add new magic to the hotel bar.
