They have released the Doomsday very stacked cast list. Gotta imagine Secret Wars is gonna be even crazier. I honestly wondered why they were only doing 1 movie for Secret Wars so Im all for it. Avengers are the most fun Marvel movies. May be individual movies have been better quality, but Avengers movies are just a enjoyable experience so I’ll be there!
Can we not do one movie in two parts like low rent YA movies. We’re not Breaking Dawn here. I’d rather sit in a theater for 4 hours with an intermission on secret wars. LOTR managed to not do the two part thing, But the Hobbit sure unnecessarily did but at least they tried to title them separately. would have rather watched Dune as a single piece with an intermission. Learn how to cut a movie into a single piece and give us intermission. At least the director of IT realized and is actively pursuing putting out a cut of IT as a single narrative piece they way it should have been done in the first place.
I think we’re missing the idea here. These are epic long movies. If the Russos are repeating what they did with Avengers 3 and 4, they were both over 3 hours long and they had to cut allot to keep the runtimes that low. If they do it as a trilogy, it’d be 3 acts and still be close to 3 hours each.
They are going to take so long that the current actors will age out of the character s. Drop Anthony Macy as Cap. This is just dumb and get on with it.
Honestly my parents always talk about how going to the cinema had an intermission.
Where u could leave halfway thru. Go to the bathroom and buy more snacks…
From my own experiences halfway thru a movie I run out of popcorn.
Or my drink and need to go to the bathroom…
Why can’t we bring that back.
One of the first movies was 4hrs of watching people hopping on and off trains.
Why can’t we have a 4-5hr long movie… Where we have a intermission. It’d be so much better that way ya know? Sports have halftime breaks no one complains?
Plays have intermissions no one complains.
Movies used to? No one complained.
Why can’t we have that now.
I say make a 4hr movie and give it an intermission.
But as for the part one part two thing?
The only thing people hate about it is bcuz ur left in suspense…
Do u care when ur reading a book?
Or when ur watching a really good show?

Plus technically? Endgame and secret wars? Is part one and part 2.
Only reason why u didn’t notice? Was the 5 year time jump.
When a movie continues right after the events of its predecessor?(Far from home and no way home)
Its not just a sequel.
Its a directors secret sneaky way of doing part one and part 2.
But honestly? Idc wat format it comes out in.
I just care that they do a good job.
And the russo brothers?
Always do a good job.
They’re veterans now in the field and have done a fantastic job managing multiple characters and still sticking to a cohesive storyline.
So by all means do whatever.
But honestly I agree with most in these comments bring back intermissions! Like God.

In this case it’s not the audience complaining about the length, it’s the theaters. Movies getting longer means less dollar per movie return. People don’t want to go to a movie and pay a different price because the movie is longer, so they either jack the price up for all movies, or suffer small cuts for longer films.
That said, I’d love for filmmakers to reintigrate the intermission. There’s plenty of good reason for it and it allows for filmmakers to integrate storytelling pauses longer than a few seconds because they trying to keep within a certain pace.

Looking forward to Disney being broken up under antitrust, resulting in Marvel being independent and fending for itself again. That will also mean the end of Marvel in the parks. No one will miss Disney ownership of Marvel and it’s time for the suphero genre to end, anyway. Audiences want musicals.
