Criminals Target Disney World’s Multimillion-Dollar Private Living Community

An act of “criminal mischief” reportedly interrupted the serene, designer environment in the Disney Golden Oak neighborhood on Sunday, January 4. This community, designed by Walt Disney Imagineers, is less than four miles from Magic Kingdom Park, and its high upfront price tag (plus HOA fees) comes with perks straight out of any Disney Parks fan’s wildest dreams.

At 12:22 p.m. on January 4, local law enforcement received a report of “criminal mischief” inside Disney Gold Oak, a private living community within Walt Disney World Resort. Scanner monitoring account @WDWActiveCrime reported the emergency response on X (formerly known as Twitter):

It’s unclear whether the alleged “criminal mischief” occurred inside someone’s home, the community clubhouse, or another area within the Disney Golden Oak community. Like most emergency calls at Walt Disney World Resort, the scanner tracked the response to a centralized address at Disney Golden Oak, rather than the exact location of the incident.

Local law enforcement hasn’t released any further information about the “criminal mischief” that occurred on Sunday.

Residents also receive a lifetime of the same benefits given to guests staying at the Walt Disney World Resort hotels.

Unsurprisingly, these luxury homes come at a high price. Properties range from roughly five to ten million dollars, with tens of thousands in annual HOA fees and the required membership to the Golden Oak Club.
