The problem with Disney is that they have tried to force their “message” in so many projects. This caused them to lose a lot of money, and now they’re cutting projects left and right, whether they are good or not. Would I call the Avatar movies great storytelling? No. So, why do I go to watch them in the theater, regardless? It’s a spectacle! The visuals are amazing to see on the big screen. However, even if the story isn’t great, it isn’t trying to force “the message” on everyone. It’s just a story. It uses many tropes, and rehashed plotlines from other stories and films, but it’s done in an interesting enough way to keep bringing in audiences. Disney dropping this would be amusing, since it could be the final nail in the Disney Corporation’s coffin. People think it’s too big to fail, but it’s not.

Franchises gotta be milked and audiences gotta drink that sour, old milk.

I would hate to think Disney would be that stupid, but sadly I can see them canceling this franchise just to satisfy a moralistic corporate mindset. Regardless of what the suits in the House of Mouse think, my money is always on James Cameron. The fate of Pandora is secure.
