Next month, a The Little Mermaid (1989)-inspired attraction at Disney California Adventure Park will close for an indefinite refurbishment. Disneyland Resort has not announced when the family-friendly ride will reopen. Here’s what Southern California Disney Park guests need to know.

Disneyland Resort recently updated its website to reflect that Jumpin’ Jellyfish, a family-friendly attraction in Paradise Gardens Park at Disney California Adventure Park, will close for a refurbishment beginning Monday, February 23, 2026. The final day to experience the ride will be Sunday, February 22.

The official website calendar only goes through March 3, 2026, and there are no operational hours listed for Jumpin’ Jellyfish through that date. Disneyland Resort hasn’t publicly announced a reopening date for the ride or shared any details about the work planned for the attraction.

Jumpin’ Jellyfish is one of the classic carnival-style rides in Paradise Gardens Park, designed for “little guppies.” Guests climb into a jellyfish-shaped ride vehicle and ascend as high as 40 feet on the bouncing, parachute-style attraction. The name of the ride is inspired by one of Sebastian’s iconic lines in The Little Mermaid.

Other Closures at Disney California Adventure Park

On January 5, 2026, the Incredicoaster and Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind closed for refurbishment at Disney California Adventure Park. Fortunately, both attractions are scheduled to reopen before Jumpin’ Jellyfish shuts down. Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind will reopen on January 23, and Incredicoaster will follow on January 6.

Grizzly River Run also closed on January 5, but, like Jumpin’ Jellyfish, it is expected to remain closed through at least March 3, 2026. The roaring rapids-style ride often goes down for several months during the colder season for its annual refurbishment. Still, it typically reopens in time to accommodate the flood of spring break crowds at Disneyland Resort.
