Your coverage of this in it of itself is heroic because there is that chasm of Disney enthusiasts who are seeing what’s happening and expressing understandable/relatable fear, anger and sorrow and the other side that has sadly been slow walked down the road of denial. They’ve been preyed upon and exploited which is so heartbreaking. There IS a right way and wrong way but placating to avoid conflict only enables the argument that another side needs its equal weight of narrative. Coincidentally, I kind of expected this post to be very neutral to mitigate collateral damage of blowback from your subscribers. Would I have been frustrated if this is what Inside The Magic did. Absolutely. Yet, would I understand the reasoning? Absolutely. This post is so comforting to know you’re using the platform to gracefully address the controversy while not shying away from its impact. When I read “powerful” I wanted to cry because I knew this wasn’t going to be a neutral narrative. This is my long winded way of applauding and validating the courage shown here. In a house of mirrors, this will test you the same way Disney failed to meet the moment. And even if it’s just my voice, this is a ray of sunshine in the perpetual darkness I’m grateful for and needed so much. I understand the risk, but what’s right morally is always the most valuable in the marathon of life. I can’t say it enough, thank you.
You people are a cult. You don’t know what “fascism” is all you fools do is repeat that sane uneducated, uninformed things. Americans aren’t anxious, they are sick of illegals taking advantage of Americans, they are sick of criminals not being punished, and most importantly they are sick of you unhinged communists. That’s why you lost the election, that’s why you’ll lose the midterms because you don’t you overgrown toddlers don’t live in reality.
This is exactly how the percentage of Americans voted for feel. I for one am sick of politics in places where we are supposed to escape from it. I am sick of being called racist because I follow the rule of law and am tired of illegals here. I and others work our butts off yet still can’t afford food, health insurance and housing. We have homeless vets in the street, something is so wrong with that and unbelievable that everyone doesn’t see it’s The ones that are triggered have started it because they have been told by MSM and the left how to feel while they have been lied to, tricked and manipulated because they are pliable and an easy target.
It shows an utter cluelessness on Disney’s part to read the room. Think back to the slightly-less terrifying time of nearly 2 years ago Elmo’s innocuous “How’s everybody doing?” tweet that received a deluge that amounted to, “Not great, Elmo.” In general, no one in the northern hemisphere is at their peak in January. But the mood of the country is anxious, and on edge, and this is not the time to be expecting neutral or playful answers.
The nature of social media is a conversation: calls, responses, group participation. I set up a call quote and hope someone who speaks my language responds with the follow up to play with me. Meaning one or two people start with anti-fascist quotes, others want to play the game, too.
Can you be neutral in a time of rising fascism? Silence sides with the oppressor. But this is not silence, it’s silencING. It is part of a Disney’s pattern to accommodate the current administration, by settling frivolous journalism lawsuits, and silencing its critics, thereby endorsing its tactics. At least this time, no corporations, including Disney, are issuing broad statements about their dismay and disavowal of the administration’s tactics. No one would believe them at this point anyway.
You should you people are a cult. You don’t know what “fascism” is all you fools do is repeat that sane uneducated, uninformed things. It’s fairly simple if you have an open mind. Iger and Co. have finally seen the bright light, the Golden Goose, aka Families and individuals that are so sick and extremely tired of having this “fascist, woke, harmful false narrative crammed down our throats. Iger and Co. and the entire Liberal Democrat nation loves it, but it doesn’t pay the bills at Disney. The majority Right and Independents saw, and felt, Disney attacking us and we said screw you and stayed home.
See the light radicals, drop this nonsense and join us in being productive Americans.
