Wow! Just got back to town and read this. I’m a lifelong resident of Charlotte, and have fond memories of Carowinds from the day it opened through the latter 2000s, thanks to having a son. This is disappointing to hear, since it does make it appear that their customers do not matter with the short notice given. I’d be demanding my entrance fee back, but that’s just me. Oh well, another corporate letdown! And a very bad decision on their last day of the season, if you ask me…….
They updated the website around 1pm but did not put it on social media until 2:30pm on Saturday. The weather was really nice. Not sure what caused this closure. I enjoyed my 1.5hr and final ride of the season on Fury 325, but was looking forward to walking around the park for several hours one last time.
