A woman is suing Walt Disney World Resort for $50,000 after she tripped and fell on a “wet substance” near a pool at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village. The Disney Park guest claimed that she suffered serious injuries after she fell “suddenly and without warning,” and she believes Disney owed it to her to maintain safe premises at the Deluxe Resort hotel.
Woman Sues Over Wet Pool Area at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

In December 2025, Luisa Hanfling of Broward County, Florida, filed a lawsuit against Walt Disney Parks and Resorts in the Florida Circuit Court in Orange County, Florida. The Walt Disney World Resort guest claimed that on March 9, 2025, she fell on “a wet substance, believed to be water, near the edge of the Samawati Springs Pool” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village.
Hanfling, who identified herself as a business invitee at Walt Disney World Resort, asserted that Disney failed to maintain a “reasonably safe premise” and “knew or should have known about” dangerous conditions near the pool at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village.
The Disney Park guest claims that, as a result of the fall, her body suffered permanent injury. Hanfling is suing for $50,000, and the lawsuit claims she suffered the following:
- Bodily and terminal injury including a permanent injury to her body as a whole
- Pain and suffering of both a physical and mental nature
- Disability, physical impairment, disfigurement, mental anguish, inconvenience
- Loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life
- Aggravation of an existing condition
- Expense of hospitalization, medical, and nursing care and treatment
- Past lost wages, loss of earning power, diminished earning capacity
- Loss of ability to lead and enjoy a normal life

The lawsuit also claims that Hanfling’s losses “are permanent or continuing” and that she “will suffer in the future” as a result of her fall at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village.
Walt Disney World Resort has not publicly responded to Hanfling’s lawsuit.

mith also claimed that she suffered permanent mental and physical injury as a result of Walt Disney World Resort’s failure to maintain safe conditions at the original Central Florida Disney park.
