Disney World Fireworks Will Soon Come With a Brand-New Reservation System

There’s something about the quiet hum before the crackle of fireworks over Seven Seas Lagoon. From the 16th floor of Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, the view feels almost supernatural — fitting, given this particular spot belongs to the villains. But what if we told you that entrance to this exclusive Disney hideaway is about to change in a major way?

After years of feeling like a secret known only to the luckiest Disney Vacation Club Members, the coveted Top of the World Lounge – A Villains Lair is finally breaking its own rules.

A Wicked Reservation System Is Coming

Starting January 1, 2026, Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Members will no longer have to rely solely on luck or timing to snag a seat at the villain-themed rooftop lounge. For the first time ever, DVC Members will be able to reserve complimentary fireworks viewing in advance — up to 60 days before their visit.

That’s right. No more arriving hours early only to be turned away. With just a call to Member Services at (800) 800-9800, eligible Members can lock in their spot overlooking Magic Kingdom’s nightly fireworks display from one of Walt Disney World’s most mesmerizing vantage points.

And for those who prefer a touch more indulgence? The Wicked Wind Down event — a $55 per person experience that pairs light bites and signature drinks with spectacular fireworks views — will continue alongside the new reservation system. Limited walk-up availability will also remain for spontaneous guests hoping to charm their way into the villains’ lair.

An Exclusive Haven With a Dark Side

Perched high above the Contemporary Resort, Top of the World Lounge was reimagined in 2022 into “A Villains Lair,” giving DVC Members an atmospheric place to celebrate their Disney side… or perhaps their more mischievous one. Gilded portraits of Disney’s most notorious foes stare down from the walls, while cocktails inspired by their infamy offer a wickedly good time.

To maintain its exclusive air, only DVC Members with access to Membership Extras — plus up to four guests per Membership Card — can enter. Alternatively, the number of guests on a DVC Resort reservation booked with points qualifies too. Entry begins at 6:00 p.m. via the 16th-floor podium at Bay Lake Tower, with a valid digital Membership Card and photo ID required for check-in.

The lounge keeps its doors open until midnight daily, though certain holidays and special events bring blockout dates. Complimentary parking becomes available two hours before your reservation, ensuring easy access for those plotting a night among villains and fireworks alike.

Why This Change Matters

For many Disney Vacation Club members, the Top of the World Lounge has long stood as a symbol of what sets DVC apart: exclusivity, atmosphere, and a tangible connection to the magic of Disney storytelling. However, its first-come, first-served policy frequently resulted in frustration — especially during peak vacation seasons when capacity filled quickly.

By allowing reservations, Disney is adding a new layer of certainty and comfort for members who value VIP-level service and stress-free planning. The change mirrors broader moves across the Walt Disney World Resort to streamline special experiences — from hard-ticketed events like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party to virtual queue systems at new attractions.

At the same time, the continued option for spontaneous walk-ups and paid upgrades keeps the experience feeling flexible. After all, what’s a Disney vacation without a little unplanned magic?

Looking Toward the Future of Member-Only Magic

As Disney Vacation Club evolves, this reservation system could signal a larger shift in how exclusive lounges and member amenities operate across property. From EPCOT’s DVC Member Lounge to potential expansions at Disneyland Resort, the balance between convenience and exclusivity continues to define the future of the program.

For now, though, one thing is certain: there’s never been a better time to plan a night among villains, fireworks, and the unbeatable skyline views above Bay Lake Tower. Just remember — starting January 1, that perfect seat might be only a phone call (and a bit of pixie dust) away.
