The misconception that it takes longer just because it is going clockwise instead of going anti clockwise is just wrong. The express monorail travels the exact same distance between TTC and Magic Kingdom. The track length has not changed. The only difference is that the guests now have to go through Polynesian and Grand Floridian resorts instead of just through Comtemporary. The entire loop is the same. This very page reported that the change was the norm and it was something that Walt had wanted.
Not sure I understand the problem here. The Express is still “Express”, it just goes in a different direction. Not sure why this would alter dinner reservations or rope drop attendance. It might be a slightly slower trip around the loop as the Express monorail slows through the stations but not seeing the impact. And who was stranded?
