There’s an unexpected new update on Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour.
While the two stars have spent the better part of a decade portraying a father-daughter relationship on Stranger Things, the relationship between Brown and Harbour has made for some dramatic headlines in recent months – and now, the pair have backed out of celebrating the show’s finale completely.

Millie Bobby Brown Files Complaint Against David Harbour
Back in November, weeks before the first installment of the final season of Stranger Things hit Netflix, the Daily Mail revealed that Brown had previously filed an official complaint against Harbour.
As per the British publication, Brown filed the complaint with Netflix, alleging that her co-star was bullying and harassing her. The complaint was apparently lodged “before they started shooting the last season” of Stranger Things, and contained “pages and pages of accusations.” This triggered an internal inquiry, which continued for months.
While the exact details are unclear, the allegations reportedly did not include any claims of sexual impropriety. Brown went on to have a personal representative by her side during the filming of the show’s final episodes – which, even in the first installment, included plenty of scenes between the pair.

Harbour – who is set to star in next year’s blockbuster Avengers: Doomsday (2026) – was apparently supported through the accusations by his ex-wife, Lily Allen, who recently released an album, “West End Girl,” featuring multiple salacious accusations about her former partner’s infidelity and behavior throughout their marriage.
Additional Updates on Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour
While neither Brown nor Harbour has commented directly on the rift, the pair were shown interacting in a friendly manner at the world premiere for Stranger Things‘ final season.
Brown did get close to the subject when asked why it was important to show a united front.
“We’ve been doing that for the last 10 years,” she said (via The Hollywood Reporter). “I mean, we have always been united in that. We love this show with everything, and we value our friendship more than anything.”

She also commented fondly on their dynamic in Season 5.
“It was quite nostalgic because it reminded me so much of season two and three, where we’re both kind of butting heads and she’s growing up, she’s trying to find her own voice and he’s trying to parent, and that dynamic definitely comes back into play once again, and I’m really excited for people to see that,” Brown said. “And I think some of people’s favorite scenes of Eleven are El and [Jim Hopper], so I’m really excited to have that come to screen once again.”
The Duffer Brothers were asked more directly about the bullying claims.

Co-creator Ross Duffer told The Hollywood Reporter, “Obviously, you understand I can’t get into personal on-set matters, but I will say we’ve been doing this for 10 years with this cast, and at this point they’re family, and we deeply care about them. So, you know, nothing matters more than just having a set where everyone feels safe and happy.”
Director and executive producer Shawn Levy was also asked generally about how a bullying complaint is handled on set. “You have to create a respectful workplace where everyone feels comfortable and safe, and so we did everything to build that environment,” he explained. “And we’re proud of the fact that we did so.”
Surprising New Update on Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour Situation
But if fans were hoping to see Brown and Harbour show a united front one final time before the show ends, we have some bad news.
According to People, Harbour did not attend Stranger Things: The Final Season Celebration.

The event – which took place at the Paley Center in New York last night – saw Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Noah Schnapp, Caleb McLaughlin, Jamie Campbell Bower, Joe Keery, and Maya Hawke gather to watch the show’s season finale.
However, Harbour backed out amid recent reports of unusual behavior, including an incident in which he apparently took a man’s hat at an eatery in Encinitas, California, last weekend. Harbour was heard shouting, “C’mon, dude, f*****g get me!”
A spokesperson for the Paley Center told People that Harbour would “not be present due to a scheduling conflict.”

Meanwhile, a source shared concerns with TMZ that Harbour’s behavior is related to his bipolar disorder. “David has always been honest about managing his bipolar disorder,” they said. “Wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what he’s dealing with here after working non-stop all year and having his personal life under public scrutiny.”
Brown also backed out of the event after reportedly injuring her arm in a fall. She also missed an appearance on “Good Morning America” earlier this week, instead joining the show via a video livestream.
