Law enforcement responded to three separate incidents in the Magic Kingdom Resort area on Thursday, December 11, making for a particularly chaotic day at the original Walt Disney World Resort theme park. Here’s what Disney Park guests need to know about the incidents.

Guest Trespassed After Verbal Fight at Fort Wilderness

The first incident occurred shortly after 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 11. According to the X (formerly known as Twitter) account @WDWActiveCrime, which tracks law enforcement scanner activity at Walt Disney World Resort, police initially responded to a “verbal fight” near Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. Later, deputies updated the report to reflect a response to a “trespasser,” suggesting that Disney security had issued a trespass notice for at least one guest involved in the verbal dispute.

Little is known about this incident, but Walt Disney World Resort often relies upon Orange County Sheriff’s Department deputies stationed onsite to enforce trespass notices against guests. These notices ban guests from all Central Florida Disney properties for anywhere from one day to a lifetime.

Sometimes, a “trespasser” report can indicate that a Disney Park guest who had previously been banned had returned to the property. However, given that this 911 call was initially for a “verbal fight,” it’s more likely that Disney security elected to issue a trespass notice after one or more guests broke the property rules.

Shortly before noon on Thursday, authorities responded to a “suspicious incident” somewhere around the Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Contemporary Resort area. From @WDWActiveCrime:

A “Suspicious incident” can refer to a wide range of things, from a guest behaving strangely to a violent incident. Sometimes, authorities update “suspicious incident” calls (in the same way they updated the earlier report from a “verbal fight” to a “trespasser”), but they have yet to do so in this case.

Finally, on Thursday afternoon, law enforcement responded to a report of “Battery (Unwanted Touching or Striking Someone)” in the Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Contemporary Resort area. According to @WDWActiveCrime, they first received the 911 call at 4:59 p.m.

Once again, it’s unclear exactly what occurred in this incident, or whether those involved were issued trespass notices as in the earlier incident at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort.

Emergency calls at Walt Disney World Resort are centralized to specific locations, so the exact spots pinpointed on the Google screenshots shared by @WDWActiveCrime do not necessarily reflect where the incidents occurred. In any case, neither Walt Disney World Resort nor local law enforcement has issued any public statements or warnings regarding the three emergency responses in the Magic Kingdom Resort area on Thursday.

Operations continue normally at Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Walt Disney World Resort typically tries to handle issues like these discreetly, without impacts on other visitors. However, guests who happen to encounter law enforcement or Disney security cast members should follow any verbal or written instructions.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department has previously issued police reports about crimes on the Central Florida Disney property. While there’s no guarantee that they’ll do so in any of Thursday’s three cases, more information could be made public in the coming days.
