Disney World is going all in on construction in 2026. With three of its parks, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios, looking at major overhauls that will block off large areas of the parks for the entirety of the year, this will be the year of construction walls at Disney World.

Disney has attempted to mitigate some of the disappointment fans are feeling about next year with a slew of announcements aimed at getting guests into the parks in 2026. However, with few overwhelmingly new experiences and an increased price tag, it feels like 2026 will be a slow year at Disney World.

Beyond just the parks, Disney World has announced major construction projects at dozens of resorts, some of which will last for the entire year, including significant projects at every Walt Disney World Deluxe Resort Hotel. Now, Disney has added another major project at a DVC hotel that guests should be aware of before booking their 2026 Disney World vacations.

Yesterday, Disney filed a permit for construction at Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. These luxurious villas offer guests the chance to stay in a treehouse within their own private mini-house, complete with a kitchen.

Land‑Ron, Inc. is listed as the contractor for the project, with an expiration date set for January 7, 2027. This suggests that the Treehouse Villas are in store for interior remodels that will take up the entirety of next year.

Land-Ron has worked with Disney, along with dozens of other major hotel chains, on remodeling their high-end hotel rooms, which suggests that the interiors of the rooms are in store for an overhaul, rather than a complete remodel. Despite that speculation, Disney has not made any announcement about the upgrades coming to the Treehouse Villas, and the permits do not suggest the scope of the work to be completed.

The work at Saratoga Springs joins other hotels, such as the Boardwalk Inn, the Contemporary, the Beach and Yacht Clubs, and Animal Kingdom Lodge, which will undergo construction throughout next year. And that’s just the beginning.
