A few years ago I asked a friend if she wanted to go to Disney, and said they had parks in Tokyo and Shanghai. It was a fabulous time. I did have airline miles and hotel points which helped, but we stayed at the Sheraton right at the Tokyo park, and the Toy Story hotel at Shanghai. Of the 2, Shanghai was my favorite. It is massive and cheap. My favorite souvenir is my mouse ear cap with my name embroidered in mandarin on the back. If you fly from the US to China and involve a 3rd country you do not even need a visa if staying under 144 hours. It was totally awesome. DO IT!

We’re just heading home, SLC, UT, from 6 days in WDW, at the Yacht Club. It had been about 10 years since our last visit. There were a ton of changes which made us anxious to take our daughter and her 5 and 1 year old boys. It’s us old parts that have been going since the 1970s that feel a lot of outrage at the skyrocketing costs for lodging, airport fees, meals, park tickets, lightening lanes, and meals. We had to try the fairly new Space 220 and take the kid’s to Cinderella’s Castle for dinner. That’s @ about $400 a pop. And for me, I got food poisoning and missed a day in the parks. I’m not sure how you calculate that.
Now, in our 70s, I doubt we’ll go again. We had a blast. Our 5 year old Grandson was so brave. He went down the pirate slide at the Yacht Club pool 8 times. He fearlessly went on the Tower of Terror.
