Having just been to Epic 4 days ago, I can see this park being somewhat of a flop. For me, It lacks the “magical feel” of the other parks. Not to mention, I am a larger guy, 6`4″ 300 lbs. I couldn’t fit on “Curse of the Werewolf”, or on “Hiccup Wing Gliders”. Thought with a new park, they would have made innovations for at least one row of modified seats for larger guests? I was able to ride everything at the other 2 parks. On top of that, I guess my expectations of modern technology were too much. I was expecting to get really wowed by the Ministry of Magic ride and others, but really they fell flat. “Escape from Gringotts” was a better ride and it’s older. The only two rides I found that were really great were the “Monsters Unchained” and the Star Racers Coaster. Those were spectacular for me. We spent 6 days in Orlando and saved Epic for last. Spent a shit ton of money, and felt the new Epic Universe overall was not much more than a bunch of fluff. More restaurants and gift shops than there were rides. Didn’t even seem like a Universal Park…..
The day we went to Epic, Harry Potter broke down for a few minutes while we were on it. Monsters Unchained was down all morning and when it finally came back on line we rode it and it stopped in mid ride for a moment. The Mario shooting game ride stopped on us for at least 5 minutes while on the ride. And last but not least Mine Cart Madness broke down 2 times while we were waiting in the cue. Lets just say an EPic time was not had. We spent thousands for our family of 4 to go to these parks and I feel like we got screwed on Epic day……
