On Saturday, November 15, 2025, a brawl broke out at Magic Kingdom Park. Inside the Magic originally covered the scanner report of a “Battery (Unwanted Touching)” incident near Adventureland and Frontierland, but a new police report revealed that the fight began after a family struggled to find directions to the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure attraction.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Controversy

Aside from Saturday’s fight, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is one of the most controversial attractions at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. The reimagined log flume ride debuted in 2024, ditching its original Song of the South (1946) theme for The Princess and the Frog (2009).

The change came after years of complaints about the attraction’s association with the widely-banned film, which contains offensive stereotypes and whitewashed portrayals of post-Civil War life for Black Americans.

Even years after the permanent closure of Splash Mountain, the mere mention of its name sparks debate among many Disney Parks fans. Many guests love the more inclusive ride and its advanced audio-animatronics, while others were disappointed by the less climactic storyline and long for the more nostalgic characters.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure experienced countless technical issues in its first few months of operation, particularly at Walt Disney World Resort. Several Disney cast member and Annual Passholder previews were canceled hours before Magic Kingdom Park closed, and countless guests were evacuated from the ride.

Although the attraction seems to experience less downtime these days, it still struggles with audio-animatronic issues, and at least one of the advanced figures often remains motionless even as the rest of the ride operates normally.

Despite all the controversy and debate surrounding Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Saturday’s fight actually had nothing to do with Splash Mountain nostalgia or recurring technical issues. In fact, the brawl began before the family even stepped into the Frontierland ride’s queue.

On Monday, November 17, the X (formerly known as Twitter) account @WDWActiveCrime shared a redacted police report containing more information about the alleged “Battery (Unwanted Touching)” incident at Magic Kingdom Park, which had occurred just two days prior. The document reveals that a family was looking for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure when an argument about navigating the park turned violent.

Two adult sisters were involved in the incident. The victim said she and her sister arrived at Magic Kingdom Park around 7:30 p.m. A short time later, the family was looking for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure but got lost, resulting in them “taking the long route.”

An argument ensued, and the victim’s sister, identified in the report as Tacquaya, “became aggressive toward her and struck her in the face.” The sisters’ mother tried to separate them, but Tacquaya attacked the victim again, “causing both of them to fall to the ground.”

The victim grabbed Tacquaya to “prevent further injury.” Walt Disney World Resort security arrived and separated the women until Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived.

The deputies observed a “visible bump” near the victim’s left eye. She received medical treatment on scene and stated that she did not wish to testify or pursue charges against Tacquaya.

In an interview with deputies, Tacquaya claimed that the victim “became aggressive” and got “close to her face, which she did not appreciate.” She admitted that the confrontation “became physical” and that both women fell to the ground. However, law enforcement observed that Tacquaya was the “primary aggressor.”

Deputies arrested Tacquaya for “Battery (Domestic Violence)” without incident and transported her to the Booking and Release Center. However, at the time of this article’s publication, the victim had reportedly declined to pursue charges against her sister.
