You need to be there when the actual gate opens, not the opening/rope drop time so you can wait in line to get a token to reserve your candy cane. Then, you have to return at the designated time to pick it up. And it is one per customer per day. At least that is how it was in the past. Disneyland opened the gate early, the line formed on Main Street and they were sold out before rope drop. At DC A the front gate opened at the advertised time and a mad rush ensued to find the line and join it. We were successful and got our two candy canes as a result a few hours later in the morning. CM’s were in place to guide the forming of the line and a lot of people had the same idea to get one. Lots of effort to get one.
