Ever heard the term Franchise Fatigue, Over-Milked, Over-Saturation. Movie audiences are fickle and Disney is flighty. One minute a franchise is hot then it’s a dud! All it takes is 1 Stitch sequel to stick it 6 feet under! How about something original for the parks? This fetish with IP isn’t always the be all end all!

Edit – all it takes is one Stitch sequel that becomes a box office dud and a ride, land becomes a forgotten plan!

I think a Lilo and Stitch land in Animal Kingdom would be great in the Tropical Americas or Hollywood Studios.

Disney had the Stitch Escapes experience where Alien Encounter used to be. But then Disney took the Stich Escapes experience away and totally forgot about Stitch until now.

Since Lilo & Stitch takes place in Hawai’i, Aulani is the natural setting for expanded Lilo & Stitch stuff. Disney will not create an entire land that tries to essentially recreate Hawai’i for one character. From a business standpoint, it’s a non-starter. Look how long it took (multiple decades) Disney to finally acknowledge that fans wanted a “Villains Land” that celebrates ALL the Disney villains. My daughter loves everything Stitch, but unfortunately, Disney won’t do anything long-term for Stitch.

I love Stitch as a character, but there is no way Disney is going to dedicate an entire land to Lilo and Stitch. Disney has dedicated entire lands to franchises like Marvel, Star Wars, and Cars, but won’t invest that much into a single storyline. While the live-action movie (and the original animated film) were well received, attempts to follow up with sequels and a TV show were a bit lackluster. There doesn’t appear to be any concrete plans to continue Lilo and Stitch’s story on the big screen for now. Stitch might end up in a ride again at some point, but the previous Magic Kingdom attraction closed due to lack of attendance.

Well let us not forget about Moana which is also in the Polynesian world as well. I think it could work in Animal Kingdom with a Lilo and Stich/Moana world. I love me some Stitch and I think it could work.
