I always loved the opulence and romanticism of The Grand Floridian. The updates to carpeting and colors look beautiful in the pictures. I will love seeing it in person.

As for the new Lobby Bar, no I’m not a fan. I believe the alcohol now being served on Disney property needs to be reserved for sit down restaurants.
Having alcohol freely available in the lobby where children will be running and playing as their family waits for their rooms to be ready is not a place for alcohol to be freely consumed.
I don’t think any luxury.Deluxe hotel lobby is ever complete without a bar parked right In the middle of it!!! The grain floridian already had a very nice lounge bar. Now the lobby will just be filled with people Sloshing their drinks on the new carpet. Many of which will be visiting due to the hype.The vloggers will put on it. If the actual resort guests were unhappy that the lobby was busy before, they’re gonna be thrilled with this for their thousand dollars a night.
Have you forgotten the amount of bars and walk up joints at other Disney hotels that also have alcohol? This is nothing new. It’s just the first with an open bar right in the lobby except for the non Disney owned Swan and Dolphin hotels
Coronado Springs has an open bar in the lobby, not on same floor but still in the opening lobby but down a set of stairs. Also a lot of the resorts have walk up open bars right off the main path of the lobby. Only a few resorts don’t have a walk up bar/open bar but they all have at least a bar with wait staff that seat you or it’s off to the side in its own room/area

The changes do not surprise me. It’s exactly what I would expect from the new Disney management the; total idiocy!

Stop the pearl clutching. When GF opened, waitstaff roamed the lobby serving drinks. If anything, this is a tribute to the original design.
