As a former Disney employee with rehire status, I know first hand Disney is not using this money to pay its employees in the most hard working positions, such as housekeeping, maintenance, mechanics, and electricians. Most of these employees are apprentices and are in this program for at least 5 years making $25 an hour. This program is also funded on educational grants, so while the employee can take advantage of almost free education the wage is for living at home with parents, and not supporting the living expenses needed for southern California or central Florida.
