I am so sick and tired of having to label Disney movies as “the original” and “the remake”. This is nothing but a cash grab so that once again Disney can fe ed off the Disney adults and make another billion on the franchise. Once this makes a million Disney will see it as an open invitation to remake the sequel, which I did not watch. After Disney released the third installment they’ll remake that to.
The first movie was very good as far as original storytelling goes but I didn’t bother with the second one as by now I’m tired of girlbosses and their songs. Sure as heck I ain’t watching this.
I agree 100%. Moana may have been a girlboss movie but at least it stood alone as being completely original, although there was controversy that the idea may have been stolen. (and knowing Disney, who cannot make anything original anymore, the idea could still possibly be stolen despite the fact they won that lawsuit).
But when the watery sequel was made, Moana seemed no longer scared. Its definitely no longer sacred now thanks to the idi*t at Iger’s gold plated staff meeting table who said, “Hey, let’s make another billion dollar box office sensation by remaking Moana into live action!”
Then Iger probably replied, “Excellent idea, you get a raise!”
It saddens me to think of all the spineless Disney babies that will be sticking their thumbs in their mouths and go toddling to see this. Like Jessica said, it’ll make a billion, (‘boo hoo hoo it’s my childhood’ they’ll say although Moana is only nine years old) then Disney, getting the bighead, will remake the sequel like they’re doing to Lilo and Stitch and the cycle of endless remakes will continue. And someday we shall get AI remakes of the remakes.
Those same nostalgia sheeple are saying the same thing about Toy Story 5. I know this is off topic but I gotta say…the first two Toy Story movies were my childhood and still act as my emotional support when I need it. But this upcoming fifth movie is NOT my childhood, just as all these remakes are not my childhood. I know my childhood when I see it and I also see where it’s getting screwed by the modern generation.
The original Moana…yes I’m tired of having to put original or remake to, or put a year…will only be ten years old next year. That’s not old enough to get a remake just yet, not that it ever needed one. Disney’s just out to milk another billion from everyone to suit their ego. I’ll be staying away from this one as I’m not one to keep fueling for more watery remakes unlike most of the hypocritical audience who say, ‘Im tired of remakes’ but then like the little sheep they are they go, ‘baah, baah baah’ and flock to the theater to see their childhood get screwed.
I didn’t know they released a teaser trailer already. I don’t care to see them. If Hei Hei is in this I wouldn’t mind seeing what he looks like but I’m not watching the movie. Not even for curiosity when it hits streaming and not on DVD when it hits the Dollar Stores. Disney needs to stop doing this.
Just stop it for crying out loud, Disney; just stop. Iger the Ignorant needs to fire every single one of his so-called imagineers and bring in people who actually know how to make good original stories. And don’t remake them in five years.
This movie did not need be made. At the ending of Moana 2 it was clearly insinuated that there will be a third, unfortunately. So why make this? Disney is so greedy for money it’s disgusting.
I got around to watching the teaser. (Don’t worry, I left a dislike) Mainly I wanted to see the comments. Most of them are in complete agreement with what we’re saying here about Moana not being old enough to be remade and the fact that they did a remake in the first place just shows once again that Disney has a creative brain drain.
Many said the trailer looked AI. Its just 90-95% CGI like all the “live” action remakes are.

Very hard pass. This movie did not need a remake. Especially so soon. Disney is just trying to make money. Well they won’t get mine for this.

If I saw this movie on a plane I would still walk out
YooHoo
Lol, I literally saw this same famous comment under the Moana teaser trailer comments!!! 🤣
Lynda
Same and another funny one was:
“How about NO-ana?”
Maybe Mentally Mitch will have another field day reading comments. Or we get a song out of it.

Oh my gawd, who hurt you all?
This comment section needs therapy…
Rosebud
You got that backwards, bub. The only commenter needing mental therapy is you; Disney baby.

Lol, the only one hurting obviously is you. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

Oh dear, looks like another Disney adult snowflake got themselves offended by freedom of speech…

And they’re talking a year and a half from November 2025, which would make the release not in 2026, but in 2027.
