Went to Disneyland on the 25th of November and trading was booming like crazy there was a huge crowd trading

I only buy pins to keep, and don’t get involved in trading. I was glad when DL cracked down on the traders in Frontierland; the benches are for guests, not people making money IN the park.
As long as they abide by the rules, I don’t have an issue. I just don’t really trust some of them; too many pawn off knockoff pins.

    1. I have 5 16×24 pin frames hanging on our collector wall. I got most of them from on trading with cat members. I tried to get full sets of the monorail , license plate, villains, Mikey lanyards – etc. and I display them. I did but a few more expensive ones I liked. But I usually bought the cheaper collector sets and traded. I started collecting Hard Rock pins and, well, it all just got too crazy, too overwhelming, and too expensive. I looked at pin prices 2 weeks ago. I’m good with my decision to stop, but I do love my displays.
Earful tower which is home, Sorcerer’s hat now gone – I cherish those photographs and pins. And the car collector sets. Guess I was always more of a collector than trader.

I was myself a custodian that worked at Disneyland and was a guest there as well and I remember going to the pin traders at the benches they would have hundreds of pins. I had a lanyard around my neck and kids, adult came to me and asked to see my pin collection on my lanyard and would trade 1 or 2 pins from me and I would get a pin or 2 from them as well. I would every time when I get off from work I would go straight to where the pin traders where and collect a lot of valuable pins. I can’t believe they have now put a restriction rule for not letting pin traders use benches and they are now only allowed to have a lanyard portion of there collection and not they can’t bring their whole collection that’s ridiculous I have to say about that. It was basically the only thing that was free in the park to get pins from pin traders now they’re making it where it’s impossible now to have them there and have to pay for pins. That’s insane

It’s not ridiculous at all. Those pin traders were becoming inconsiderate and a lot of them weren’t even trading, they were selling, which completely misses the point. Giving them their own designated area is a compromise to taking the boards away. Be thankful they’ve still got that.

  4. I hope they’re not ending trading with the cast members at the pin boards and the trivia was really fun. I love the trivia. My girlfriends had said I’m really good at it. I learned so much about the Disneyland parks. Please Disneyland don’t get rid of the pen trading With a cast members pin boards, it was so much fun. Now I don’t know if I’m going to be able to buy anymore so I can be trading. I hope not. It was so fun. When I would go solo it would give me something to do and exchange a different pin for what I liked better. Does anybody know if they’re going to get rid of that also?

Each and every week Disney does something new to make me never want to come back. Jack up prices, change rules, take little free experiences away. For a vacation they used to be the standard for customer experiience, They have turned into a revolting company.

Like always a small group goes and screws it up for everyone. You have these hard core traders who tend to get out of hand. Some of them apparently are a bit predatory when it comes to someone else not knowing that they have a rare pin and offer their target a pretty looking cheap knockoff in exchange. Granted there are good honest ones too. When one of my kids was heavily into trading a trader pointed out that she had a rare limited edition pin in her collection and told her to hang on to it. It’s a double edged sword, but it’s the ones who cause problems are always the ones who make the news.
