Disney Imagineering has been lately. With construction projects underway at Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom, Imagineering will continue to work overtime in the coming years as these projects begin to take shape.

While guests have seen construction walls go up at the three parks, details about the rides/attractions coming to the new lands have been scarce. That’s what makes any minor detail reverberate among the Disney community, and Disney Imagineering dropped some hints about what’s coming to Disney World on Tuesday with a new post on Instagram.
Disney Imagineering posted a new video that gave a brief glimpse into the new projects they’ve been working on. These new projects appear to offer some insight into what’s coming to Cars Land and Villains Land at Magic Kingdom, as well as Tropical Americas Land at Animal Kingdom.

The first part of the video introduces guests to the Disney Imagineering Special Effects Department, and we get our first glimpse of a realistic-looking rain cloud. When the lights go out, the cloud lights up, appearing to show lightning and a realistic-looking storm.
This cloud resembles the one used by Pepa Madrigal, who can control the weather with her emotions in the film, and could possibly be part of the new Encanto-themed ride.

The video jumps to what appear to be creepy eyes staring into our souls. There is no explanation about what these are, but by the looks of them, they’re heading for the new Villains Land.
Later on in the video, Imagineering teases a “modern holographic material through media and fiber optics.” However, when the Imagineer says the name of the project, it’s redacted. These will most likely be a part of the new Villains Land as well.

The final tease is a high-powered water cannon in the Imagineers’ pool area. These appear to be a part of Piston’s Peak based on concept art from the project.
These new updates offer a quick glimpse into what Disney Imagineering is working on, and also give Disney fans something to look forward to in the future. And based on this video, the future looks good.
