Working for over 30 years at a higher education institution in California with 20 years of searching out diverse suppliers & contractors; I am glad this is over.
The time spent searching out for these companies and even giving a 5% advantage wasn’t worth the time. It was a full time job for 1.50 people for the research, processing, verification, & reporting. This was for 1 institution. I can’t imagine how many people it took for Disney to do this. Those folks can be reassigned to other business duties.
It’s what it is. Radical favoritism.
If these suppliers, services, etc., are worth their salt, they will stay with Disney, or work their way to the top someplace else. Companies and institutions spent loads of time, money and manpower to enable all this nonsense. Unnecessary. Let things be without government intervention.
About time! We were a small business that was constantly being overlooked because we weren’t woman or minority owned. We would both bid, but because they were allowed to bid higher, they would get the job and we would not. When the government started that program, it really hurt our small business. Glad to see Disney ending the practice. It should go to the best fit and no other reason.

Nothing wrong with supporting veterans and disabled folks, we’re just sick of the woke, feminism and pushing black and brown people in movies.
