While Disneyland and Walt Disney World are often regarded as nostalgic places filled with history and decades-old attractions, the parks continue to evolve in significant ways year after year. From the grand opening of exciting rides like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure to the development of all-new lands, guests never truly know what their Disney day might look like.

Just recently, Disneyland updated one of its most classic rides with a new scene, sparking excitement among the community.

Storybook Land Canal Boats reopened following its extended closure this past weekend. The boat ride takes riders through iconic Disney films, such as Alice in Wonderland and Pinocchio, and now Tangled, which recently joined the list.

Storybook Land Canal Boats closed this summer for maintenance; however, in October, Disneyland confirmed that the attraction would also receive a new scene inspired by Tangled.

Now, riders will see Rapunzel’s tower as they make their journey through the water. That’s not all, as riders will also be able to hear Rapunzel singing “When Will My Life Begin” from the tower. At night, “I see the Light” will be heard.

Storybook Land Canal Boats opened alongside Disneyland Park in 1955 and ranks as one of the quintessential parts of the entire resort.

This is hardly the only change guests can expect to see at Disneyland, as the entire resort is set to undergo significant changes in the coming years. Last year, Disney officially confirmed Disneyland would get its own version of Walt Disney World’s Pandora  – The World of Avatar.

The immersive land, based on James Cameron’s blockbuster sci-fi franchise, has been a major hit ever since it opened at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 2017, making the decision to bring it to the West Coast a no-brainer for Disney. Construction on the new land will officially start early next year once Monsters Inc. Mike and Sully to the Rescue closes permanently.

The classic dark ride will shut its monster doors forever to make way for Disneyland’s new Pandora.

Several new things are in store for Disneyland’s Avengers Campus as well, with work now underway on bringing two new attractions to life in the superhero-themed land.
