Sadly, in Iger’s world, nostalgia and disneyfeels can not compete with flashy automated marketing barrages for shoddy Chinese merchandise. And if he can throw in a little virtue signaling, all the better.
Why isn’t the CEO of ABC stepping in to stop this madness?. Why is Iger still allowed to be in charge? It is vital that his successor returns Disney to it former glory. That means not only restoring the lost attractions, it also means a written, public apology.
Well, Pirates may not be the money maker from merch sales along with those old attractions but those old attractions bring people like my family and friends to Disneyland. We spend our money in the park on Merch, food, hotel stays, ticket sales and a Magic Key. So think twice about those “old attractions”.
He’s a racist. Well, when he is gone and history, somebody will obviously bro g back Classic Disney. Nothing will obviously stay Iger’s way. And it’s obvious that the next CEO (not referring to Josh or Walden because it may not be either of them for many reasons) will not carry out Iger’s vision after what he Ignorantly said and what has badly happened according to the sunk stock.
I’m not kidding and it’s not funny. I’m serious. He is so a hypocritic racist and a liar like you. The laugh is actually on you because the Tiana ride is the one that is racist due to it having slavery references like Trek e salt dome and try original never had any of those things. Eat that you dunce, unless you’re too cowardly to face that fact.
His comments are exactly the reason Disney gets no money from this household, whether it’s going to the parks, the streaming channel, or any merch. I miss old Disney.
For a man with supposed intelligence, and skill to run a company such as Disney, it’s really shocking how small, disconnected, and unobjective he truly is! I’ll be glad when he’s gone. Could keep Disney as Disney. He spent his tenure recreating Disney parks into Universal 2.0! Just one movie-based ride after another!
Also ….. I understand this is paraphrasing –
“ In his eyes, the company’s earlier attractions, no matter how beloved, often fail to meet modern storytelling standards.” I’d like to know: What is ‘Modern storytelling standards?’ As if Walt Disney’s first imagineers were just idiots! There are so many books about the brilliant and talented crew Walt had. Where are the books on “today’s modern storytelling” imagineers? If anything I can’t stand force-fed story lines on rides where I’m passively watching someone else’s story. Where subtly my own imagination is more stimulated imaging my own self as the main character travelling in exotic realm with a rich BACKSTORY. That’s the brilliance of rides like Haunted Mansion and the original 1967 PotC. But Iger is too 1 dimensional to see that! Which is why he really, really needs to go, and the next CEO not hampered by his “1 dimensional” grooming tactics to the next CEO!
I used to live in Florida and went to Disney World on many occasions. My grand child is 2 and by the time that she is old enough to go take a trip to the Magic Kingdom all of the great things that I wanted to share with her will be gone! Quit changing or removing everything that Walt wanted to have at his parks or else grandparents like me won’t be spending our money to take our grand children anytime in the foreseeable future.
I am very much looking forward to retconning everything he worked for when I take over Disney and make it great again. Disney under me will be locked in the 20th century with no future or no new attractions unless you count bringing back old things by closing the things they replaced. Disney will return to the “What would Walt do?” days.
