Meanwhile, Johnson and Johnson, the company who MAKES Tylenol, has been warning pregnant women to not take it. For YEARS, no less. But TRUMP is the “dumbass”? Sure thing, slick.
Tylenol company issued the following statement: “We recommend pregnant women do not take any over-the-counter medication, including acetaminophen, without talking to their doctor first.”
Additionally, there have been NUMEROUS studies showing concerning links between Tylenol consumption during pregnancy and complications and health issues.
Don’t just have a knee-jerk reaction without research just because Trump said it.
I worked at Disney store and Disney world for 10 years. I was behind the scenes in payroll, reservations and in the parks. I just can’t believe what they are doing now… taking out classic rides and closing more than what is open. But still expect you to go and pay the big bucks. They need to smarten up. If it’s not broke don’t fix it…
I find nothing wrong with the Pirates ride. It shows the ways Pirates lived, as in many old and new movies! These people have nothing better to do but complain, and think they can keep changing things to suit their woke ways! Worry about boys/men in the girls/ladies bathrooms/locker rooms!
Get over yourselves! If history offends you, DON’T ride the ride. Life was not fair, was not sanitized and women were chattel, even as we were until the late 20th century. You want pretty and safe? Go ride “It’s a Small World” all day.
I’m offended to everything in the world and will only act like a cat for now on. Oh, wait that is already happening…and now I’m offended by that as well. Ugh.
I hate what some of these complainers have done to the Disney rides. I noticed a couple of days ago that the person hanging from the ceiling in the Haunted Mansion was so dimly lit that you can barely tell it’s there. People really need to get a life or stop riding these rides. And I still want to know how you can feel assaulted (or whatever word they used) by riding a ride.
OMG, if it offends you or makes you uncomfortable, why are you riding it? Just don’t get on the ride. Don’t spoil it for people who still like it. So rude.
You felt violated every time you have ridden it?? We get it, you are a strong independent, rock, of a powerful woman, a girl boss, if you will, but GROW the heck UP.
Imagine spending hundreds of dollars to visit Disneyland multiple times and go on a ride that feels “rapey” more than once, then complaining about it. What are you doing with your life? If you don’t like the ride, don’t ride it.
It’s a shame that these parents both parents taught them to be whiners to get everything that they wanted that they didn’t have to just appreciate things for what they are. It’s a ride don’t ride it if you don’t like it. If you feel unsafe try taking the bus in St Louis and feel how safe your public has made you.
If everything scares you and is so scary to you why are you leaving your house stay home where you’re safe. Then the rest of us can enjoy life out here
There’s nothing more narcissistic than wanting to prevent others from enjoying something just because you don’t enjoy it. The people who do this get off on power and control and are frankly not much better than the actual pirates were.
How do you associate the women complaining being liberal? Being liberal isn’t what makes them overly sensitive.. As a liberal, I was against them changing a ride that was no problem for 40 years. I also didn’t like the change in the burning cabin or the Indian village being removed. But it’s a great ploy for conservatives to magically attach these whinners to liberalism.
I happwn to LOVE this ride. I get that some people are sensitive but for the love of Captian Sparrow get the @#$% over it and let the rest of us enjoy the ride!!!!!
Some people just live a miserable existence and want to bring the rest of the world down to their unhappy with everything existence. If everything offends you and you can’t experience any joy in life just shut yourself in your room and love a hermit life. We don’t want to be constantly poisoned by your sour mood.
This is ridiculous! This generation is offended by everything it’s so annoying. It’s a pirate ride! If you don’t like it, don’t ride it. Disney should just leave the ride as is. Nothing wrong with it. These overly sensitive people need to grow a spine. This is the result of gentle parenting.
So a couple of people have a ” feeling” These people are self-centered, selfish, so self-absorbed they really expect everything to change for them? Maybe someone should lie to them about the nature of the real world around them as to not make them feel ” rapey” or ” violated” How irretrievably, stupid and self-absorbed are these people. How much attention do they need? and the whole world has to kowtow to these morons? Stop changing the attractions for every idiot who feels offended or threatened Disney.
If you don’t like it, don’t ride it! Disney should not change it, just because a few didn’t like it. The original ride was modeled after the time of when Pirates of the Carribean was. You can’t change history, just because you don’t like it.
It felt rapey? Seriously! Many women have been raped and I’m sure none of them felt like they were on a Disney ride. How dare anyone compare a ride to rape! Utterly despicable.
This article took a simple ride evacuation and used it for cover to put forth the author’s personal opinion about the ride. This is a prime example of why Donald tRump is president.
Do better.
If you don’t want to see what real pirates did then don’t ride it, but don’t fake garbage for your fantasies, show it like it was..history, you don’t like it then don’t ride it just remember now days it’s not like that .. or are you too childish to determine real from fake.. grow up.
The ride isn’t a moving historical treatise on the life of pirates, its on a ride at an amusement park for kids. If there’s anything rapes, its that last scene of people being lustily chased. Nobody ever talks about those poor pirates or that rapey woman chasing them down!
I hate to break it to some of you but back in that time woman didn’t have much say in what happened to them. Both times I’ve been on the pirates in Anaheim in California I’ve never had an issue because deep down this is an adaptation of the times back then. They don’t mean it to be offensive. Stop getting so butt hurt over stuff.
Jess claims that the ride is offensive. Rehashes old comments that a very few people have allegedly said and ignores the fact that MANY more find Depp to be more offensive than any of the quoted comments. If you don’t like the facts, then ride something else. Maybe the carousel is more your speed.
Why are Jimmy Kimmel watching people going to Disney? They need to ruin perfect rides loved by millions of people. Next on their agenda, I guess, is removing ” Its A Small World” sound track playing OVER and OVER through the entire ride and stopping the polution from the steam train smoke stacks. Maybe eliminating fried food since its bad for guests in the park. And lets not speak of Disney allowing rain to spoil our day, the park needs a dome?
It wasn’t right then, and it isn’t right now, but it was how it was in those times. It is sadly how women were treated then, and we can’t change the way things happened in the past. All we can do is look at how things were and say ‘Never again’.
Unbelievable—a few overly sensitive cry baby riders can shut down a ride that’s been around since 1967. Such an absurd move by Disney. The original in Anaheim is still my favorite version.
Comments for “Offensive” Pirates of the Caribbean Ride Closed at Disney World
Bear
For goodness sakes it’s a reenactment of the Pirate culture. If you are offended by pirates don’t ride it. Call a wasaahmbulance for these people
Patc
You are so right. If it “offends” you do not ride it!!
Nb
Really people? You get offended for this? Well in the Bible it say so, you will call the good bad and the bad good .

You’re peddling false narratives. Grow up. Seperately, Trump is an absolute moron.

I felt that the amount of female pirates took away any authenticity. Should I boycott, riot, and complain?
Darlene
I totally agree.. stay off it and get a life!
Sherry
True, don’t ride it if you’re going to complain about it. Get a life people

Said the MENTAL CASES.
I am offended that they took out the bride auction and I am offended by the article – are you going to pull it down?
RandyC
“We wants the red head.”
Dave
The ride felt”rapey”??? What’s the matter with these complainers?
Mr D
They listen to whoopie and the view.
I
Better than listening to Trump and a dumbass that believes Tylenol causes autism

Your beloved Harvard came out with that study a while ago

This has been known and discussed for decades. Climb out of mommies basement and look around

Then don’t go on the ride.
Just like food at a restaurant you don’t like something you don’t order it. You don’t try to change their menu to suit you.
