On Monday, Walt Disney World Resort confirmed that it would replace a 31-year-old icon of Magic Kingdom Park’s Tomorrowland after a lengthy refurbishment period that began earlier this year.

In May 2025, Walt Disney World Resort updated its webpage for the Cool Ship (and Cool Scanner) kiosk in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom Park, listing the Quick Service dining location as “temporarily closed.” Days later, construction walls surrounded the kiosk, and crews began dismantling the 31-year-old Tomorrowland structure. Sadly, the demolition included the disappearance of the large red spaceship that sat atop the kiosk, which was reportedly a reused prop from Disney’s Flight of the Navigator (1986).

Despite the construction walls, guests spent the summer watching the refurbishment project progress from above via rides on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover. Crews eventually poured a foundation for a new snack kiosk, which was assembled offsite and installed at the Magic Kingdom in September. However, Walt Disney World Resort didn’t share any details about the future of the kiosk that once sold popcorn, Coca-Cola products, and other theme park staple snacks.

Finally, on October 27, 2025, Walt Disney World Resort updated its website to reveal that the former Cool Ship kiosk will now be known as “AstroFizz.” When it opens, the reimagined Tomorrowland dining location will be sponsored by Coca-Cola.

Menu items include popcorn and Coca-Cola, Fanta Orange, and Fanta Blue Raspberry flavored Frozen Slushies, as well as a new Cherry Cola Churro, described as a “churro rolled in cherry sugar, drizzled with Coca-Cola Cherry icing, and topped with cherry popping candies.”

According to Walt Disney World Resort’s website, the snack stand will also serve cotton candy and Coca-Cola Fountain Beverages. The official description of the Tomorrowland Quick Service dining location reads:

“Fuel up at this space-age stand featuring buttery popcorn and fluffy cotton candy. Then, before you blast off again, cool off with a refreshing beverage—like frozen slushies or assorted Coca-Cola® Fountain Beverages.”

Walt Disney World Resort also released the following social media description of the new kiosk: “Prepare for snack liftoff in 3…2…1 ???? AstroFizz is coming soon to #MagicKingdom!”

Disney has stated that AstroFizz will open “later this year,” but no specific grand opening date has been announced. At the time of this article’s publication, the Walt Disney World Resort website’s official calendar goes through December 26, 2025, and AstroFizz is listed as “no times available” through that date.
