This is literally the reason that the gay rights movement has been losing followers and traction in recent years. Ugh… you guys are literally legally hurting your own cause.
And Rowling doesn’t hate trans folks. So it’s a huge red herring anyway. She is an ardent pro-woman feminist who arguably ushered in public acceptance of alternative spiritual paths like Wicca. Reading Harry Potter is 100% what made me and my high school friends buy Silver Ravenwolf’s “To Ride a Silver Broomstick” and start trying out spells.
Love is what changes things. You can’t fight fire with fire. You can’t use fear to fight fear. And you can’t make everyone be comfortable with sharing their bathrooms or using pronouns that are grammatically incorrect.
For once, I’m glad those activists are causing trouble. Until Paapa Essiedu quits or is recasted as Kingsley Shacklebolt, have Iwan Rheon be Snape and have a male actor play Voldemort, then let the activists cause trouble.
