Technically Magicbands and Magicbands+ don’t send out location data; however, the reality is they are tracked like they do by hidden sensors throughout the park that can see them from a distance. It is one of the reasons you don’t see them used more at Disneyland, as California has privacy laws that would require Disney to provide all data collected on a person to that person upon request and to immediately delete it upon request as well. This would reveal Disney’s hand and there would be an uproar like you have never seen when people realize how closely they have been tracked, likely since pretty much when Magicbands were released.
