It’s been a tough couple of weeks for Dolly Parton and her fans. After canceling several events due to health concerns, fans were starting to be concerned about Parton’s physical health. The situation got even worse earlier this week when Parton’s sister took to social media asking fans to “pray for Dolly.”

However, Parton took to Facebook to assure her fans that she “wasn’t dying.” Parton said, “I know lately everybody thinks that I’m sicker than I am. Do I look sick to you? I’m working hard.”

Last week, Country music legend and American icon Dolly Parton canceled her upcoming Las Vegas residency this December. The six shows were set to run at the same time as the National Finals Rodeo and would have been Parton’s first extended run in Vegas in 32 years.

This is the second time in less than a month that Parton has had to skip a public event, citing “health issues.” Last week, she was forced to skip an event at her theme park, Dollywood, announcing the park’s newest attraction for 2026, citing kidney stones.

In the announcement about the cancellations of her Vegas shows, Parton took a silly tone, telling fans that it was time for her “100,000-mile checkup.” However, this time, she was more serious and reassuring in her message to her fans.

“So I let a lot of things go that I should have been taking care of,” Parton said. “So anyway, when I got around to it, the doctors said ‘we need to take care of this’ and ‘we need to take care of that’. Nothing major, but I did have to cancel some things. There’s a lot of rumours flying around, and I figured if you heard it from me, you’d know that I’m ok.”

Parton, 79, ended by assuring her fans that she’s “not ready to die yet,” and that as soon as she takes care of her health issues, she’ll be back in the public eye.
