Just in time for the holidays! This is total BS. Disneyland is making money hand over fist. Disneyland is the one resort that charges the most and offers the least – the least because Team Disney Anaheim has removed all live entertainment from the Hyperion (shuttered for years), the Golden Horseshoe now has a display on the stage about how people used to perform there, and Galaxy’s Edge live entertainment axed by TDA’s sithlord Chapek. Not to mention the countless attractions that are down or in refurb. They even cut costs by installing a prefab tool shed in front of the Haunted Mansion…a prefab tool shed that anyone of us can buy online, was put INSIDE of Walt’s original park. This is why we stopped going to Anaheim – it’s so poorly run. Unlike the rest of the Disney parks, Anaheim couldn’t care less about their visitors or the ones who bring the magic – the Cast Members. My heart goes out to these employees losing their jobs while inflation is rising and monthly healthcare costs are about to triple.
Well if I remember correctly, people cried to boycott Disney due to getting rid of Kimmel. It actually left an impact. You may not think so but it did. They make money, sure, but it cost a crap ton of money to keep the entitled people happy in what they think Disney should provide because of who they are. The public helped bring these layoffs. Park attendance is down and everything is more expensive, not just Disney. It’s not on all Disney.
It seems that the public is no longer their top priority anymore. How about making movies we actually want to see again, instead of wasting billions on junk that has little if any base.
They are not the only company doing this. Amazon is laying off 14,000 workers. It’s going to be quite the *%#* show in about five months. Happy Holidays.
I think Disney fans should just go on strike. 🪧 Don’t buy merchandise, don’t eat at the fancy restaurants, buy fast food, which is already too expensive, don’t buy tickets at the most expensive times of the year. Just casually stick it to Disney. They are just sucking the life out of families and fans. Bring the strike over to their lousy woke movies. Make them hurt till they bring the prices down. Disney has just gone out of control. Paying a fee on top of high admission prices is ridiculous. Spend as little as possible to enjoy your experience.
I was hired from another state, and now being asked to accept a lower paying position or leave. I budgeted my rent (not cheap) and my home state bills into the positions pay I was offered. I left a position in my home state that completely aligned with my degree to work for what I thought a reputable company with thoughts of retirement in mind. I now need to continue working lower paying position and leave ASAP.
Absolutely unbelievable. We just came home from a trip there recently and the park was so crowded we couldn’t even enjoy ourselves. The prices were sky high and I already decided I would never spend that much to go to Disneyland again.
I just had to come back and say Shame, Shame, Shame on the Disneyland big wigs for doing this to their cast members. They’ve gotten quite greedy and I am so disappointed in the greedy decisions they’re making. Raising prices like they are and taking away their employees lively hood.

The part they forget to say is managers up to the CEO will all receive bigger bonuses because of this!

The layoff makes no sense especially since they are doing so well.

I wish Bob Iger would get laid-off! WORST CEO in the history of Disney! 👎

It is always concerning that guest experiences will suffer when doing cast layoffs. Cast members make the magic happen with guests.
