The holiday season is just around the corner, and it’s already proving to be one of the busiest in recent Walt Disney World memory. Disney has officially marked the first night of its Jollywood Nights 2025 event as sold out, and it’s only October.

If you were planning to kick off your festive season at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Saturday, November 8, you’re officially out of luck — unless you’ve already secured a ticket. This comes as no surprise for longtime Disney fans, as Jollywood Nights is quickly gaining traction as a must-do during the winter months.

First Jollywood Nights Date Gone: November 8 Sold Out

When checking availability on Disney’s ticketing platform, November 8 is now grayed out, with the “Sold Out” tag clearly listed. The remaining 12 nights of the after-hours event, which runs through November and December, are still available — for now.

The full Jollywood Nights schedule includes dates from November 8 to December 21. But if history repeats itself, more sold-out nights could follow soon. Last year’s inaugural Jollywood Nights saw certain dates disappear weeks in advance, and the event has only grown in popularity thanks to its unique offerings and Hollywood glam holiday twist.

What is Disney Jollywood Nights?

For those unfamiliar, Jollywood Nights is a separately-ticketed, limited-capacity holiday event hosted at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s designed to evoke the golden age of Hollywood, blending retro-inspired entertainment, themed food and drinks, exclusive stage shows, and festive overlays on select attractions.

Here’s what’s included with admission:

  • “Holiday Fiesta en la Calle” – A lively Latin street party, featuring music, dancing, and this year, special appearances by Miguel from Disney and Pixar’s Coco.

  • “What’s This? – A Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along” – A returning fan-favorite musical show that invites guests to sing along to the hauntingly joyful soundtrack of Tim Burton’s iconic film.

  • The Twilight Soirée at the Tip Top Club – A vintage-style dance experience inspired by The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, complete with live music and eerie elegance.

  • “Glisten!” – A new skating spectacular making its debut in 2025, expected to combine festive visuals with professional ice skaters and music.

  • Disney Holidays in Hollywood – A musical variety show hosted by Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy, blending holiday cheer with classic Muppet-style humor and musical numbers.

The entertainment lineup alone justifies the buzz — but Disney sweetens the deal further with specialty food, exclusive photo ops, and limited-time character meet-and-greets, many of which are dressed in rare or holiday-themed costumes.

Foodie Favorites Return — and New Treats Debut

In true Disney fashion, Jollywood Nights 2025 is also delivering big on themed eats and sweets. Early previews of the food lineup have already surfaced, including festive snacks like:

  • The “Sold Out” Yule Log Cake – A tongue-in-cheek dessert that’s already become a viral hit on Disney forums

  • Mickey’s Gingerbread Mousse Dome

  • Spicy Churros with Chocolate-Coffee Dipping Sauce

  • Holiday “Studio Lights” Punch – A glowing cocktail inspired by Hollywood marquees

Several dining locations will also offer event-exclusive menus, making this one of the best nights of the year for Disney foodies.

What Does a Sell-Out Mean?

A sell-out night at Jollywood Nights generally means Disney will cap attendance at a pre-determined level, significantly lower than the park’s normal daytime capacity. This allows for reduced wait times, more personal interactions, and easier access to entertainment and snacks.

However, guests attending sold-out nights should still expect:

  • Busy crowd flow around showtimes and food areas

  • Early lines for popular characters and photo ops

  • Mobile order times filling quickly at peak hours

With November 8 being the kickoff night, demand will likely be high from locals, bloggers, and influencers eager to experience this year’s updates first.

Magic Kingdom NYE Also Sold Out — Holiday Demand Spikes Early

The Jollywood Nights sell-out isn’t the only indicator of how competitive the 2025 holiday season at Walt Disney World is shaping up to be. Disney’s Magic Kingdom has also completely sold out for New Year’s Eve 2025, months in advance.

According to Disney’s ticket portal, December 31 is fully booked for all ticket types at Magic Kingdom — standard 1-day admission, Park Hopper options, and Florida resident specials are all listed as unavailable. The only park currently showing availability for NYE is EPCOT, priced at $199.

Annual Passholders aren’t spared either. Of the four AP tiers, only the Incredi-Pass — the most expensive — is eligible for park reservations on December 31. The Pixie Dust, Pirate, and Sorcerer Passes are all blocked out that day.

What’s Behind the Surge in Demand?

Part of this early sell-out trend can likely be attributed to ongoing construction and closures at Walt Disney World’s flagship park. In 2025, Magic Kingdom is undergoing its largest expansion in decades, leading to the temporary shutdown of several major attractions, including:

  • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

  • Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin

  • Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America

With fewer high-capacity attractions operating during the holidays, crowd pressure on remaining experiences is intensifying, making limited-capacity events like Jollywood Nights even more appealing.

While November 8 is the first Jollywood Nights date to sell out in 2025, it likely won’t be the last. Guests considering a visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios during one of these after-hours events should purchase tickets soon — especially for Friday and Saturday nights, which historically sell out first.

In the meantime, if you’ve already secured a ticket for the opening night, consider it a golden ticket into one of Walt Disney World’s most unique and stylish seasonal events.

If not? There are still 12 more chances to catch the glam, the lights, the Muppets, and the churros. But act fast — as the holidays approach, Jollywood Nights is proving it’s more than just an alternative to Magic Kingdom’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

It’s becoming a destination in its own right.
