Here is a list of rides we don’t think are worth waiting (long) for at Walt Disney World.
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

While fun, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is too fleeting of an experience to justify waiting in line for more than 30 minutes. Yes, the roller coaster is quick and smooth and features an incredible show scene in the middle of the mine.
However, Magic Kingdom’s other roller coasters feel far more “worth it” than Mine Train, especially the park’s newest addition, TRON Lightcycle / Run. We recommend trying to knock Mine Train out either early in the morning or at night during Magic Kingdom’s fireworks show.
Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster

We know, but stay with us here. Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith is an incredibly fun ride, unlike anything else at Walt Disney World. It’s fast, it’s loud, and it’s still the only ride that goes upside down at any of the four theme parks. There’s a reason why this coaster is popular and always busy.
But we have a hard time justifying waiting any longer than an hour for this attraction. There are simply too many other rides, attractions, and experiences waiting for you at Walt Disney World, let alone Hollywood Studios, to spend two hours waiting in line for this ride.
Guests may want to try to ride this coaster sooner rather than later, however, as Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster will close for a big makeover.
Earlier this year, Muppet*Vision 3D, along with the entirety of Muppets Courtyard, closed permanently. This classic area had been a staple of Disney’s Hollywood Studios for years, but held its final curtain call this summer.
The Muppets aren’t totally being liked out of the park. In a surprise twist, Disney revealed the Muppets will be taking over Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster. The new revamped version of the ride, simply called Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets, is set to open in 2026, meaning fans of Aerosmith don’t have much time left to enjoy the original version of the ride.
Avatar Flight of Passage

This is another heavy-hitter, but we really try to avoid waiting too long for Avatar—Flight of Passage. Yes, this ride is fantastic, really impressive, and possibly one of the best attractions Disney has ever built.
But waiting anywhere from an hour and a half to two and a half hours feels excessive. We get that there’s not a whole lot to do at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, so guests have a little more free time than they would at Magic Kingdom or Hollywood Studios, but we highly recommend waiting until the end of the day to ride Flight of Passage.
Avoiding the morning and lunchtime rush can significantly reduce the time spent waiting for this attraction, so stop by on your way out of Animal Kingdom.
At the end of the day, it’s really hard to actually “waste time” inside a Disney theme park, but we want you to have the most magical day possible. Taking a look at our tips can help elevate your vacation even further.
