The weather at Disney World can be unpredictable, especially during hurricane season, but this week, Central Florida is expecting something unusual without a hurricane. Starting yesterday and running through the rest of the week, Central Florida is going to get slammed by major rainstorms and wind.

On Sunday, parts of Central Florida got up to 19 inches of rain in one day. The major storm caused flood damage and washed out roads across the area.
Universal Studios and the Walt Disney World Resort received just over three inches of rain on Sunday and are expected to receive even more on Monday. As Hurricane Melissa passes the state, Central Florida is expected to receive even more rain throughout the week and into Halloween weekend.

This will dampen Disney World guests’ vacations, especially as they prepare for Halloween, but Disney has come up with a unique way to shelter some of its guests from the rain. Disney World has turned the Hall of Presidents into a shelter from the storm to keep guests dry.
Disney stopped the Hall of Presidents show; instead, guests could sit in the theater and escape the storm. Cast members are there to entertain guests with trivia and are handing out small plastic hats.

While this is a unique solution, it still doesn’t allow guests to enjoy all that the park has to offer, but it does bring some Disney Magic into an otherwise bleak situation.
According to the Weather Channel, the worst storms have passed for the evening, but Disney still allows guests into the Hall of Presidents. The Hall of Presidents reopened this summer after an extended closure to refurbish and give President Trump back his speaking role in the attraction.

If you happen to be at Magic Kingdom today, you can head to the Hall of Presidents and test your trivia knowledge with the cast members.
