We went in 2020 (just before COVID closed the park), 2022, and are going this weekend. It’s never been an option before to get on this ride because of
the long waits with a small child. Now our daughter is old enough but they charge you an insane amount. Not worth it, even for this Star Wars geek.
I always do it around an hour before park closing and have never waited longer than 35 minutes. I once went at rope drop, but I am too old to run and by the time I got there the wait times was already over two hours. Besides, I love doing it after dark, the atmosphere is better.
It’s a choice, nobody is requiring an extra charge to ride but if you want to skip the line then they give you that option.
I’ve been on the ride a dozen times, never paid any up charge.
Face it……Disney is now for privledged and elite guests. One of these days it’s all going to catch up with them. I’ve been there over 50 times since the early 70’s and would now rather go to a Church Carvinval instead. Pricing has to come down, but with uncaring millions still going into the parks, I don’t see that coming anytime soon. To bad Walt can’t rise from the grave and take back the dream he built. Money and Greed has caused all this……wait and see what happens……….
I remember when there were signs that said “3hrs from this point” for rides in the 80s and everybody knew what to expect going in. I’m not able to stand for 90min anymore so I’m paying the $40 and dealing with it. Everybody expects the ultimate best from Disney but nobody wants to help pay for it.
I have ridden this several times (maybe 7-10). And more of those time than not, parts of the ride are broken down. For instance, the cannons are supposed to move and appear to fire. Of all the times I rode this, they only worked twice. Also, Kylo Ren frequently breaks down. Charging $40 to ride this is ridiculous.
I won’t pay extra for any attraction. I’d rather walk around and check out the hidden gems. I would pay for some of the tours which when done Newley 7-8 years ago, was fantastic
I rode it once in 2022 after waiting in line for an hour. I didn’t even enjoy the ride and I’m a huge Star Wars fan. I definitely don’t think it’s worth 40 bucks.
I like not going to Disney World anymore, while reading about why Im glad im not going to Disney World, while watching YouTube videos of the new rides from Disney World.

You just need to rope drop it. I did it in 2023 and it was basically a walk on.

Agree, we’ve tried to rope drop it and typically it’s “down” first thing in the morning, it’s all a crap shoot.

No I wouldn’t pay that but I live here. If you’re from the UK and it’s your only visit you’d probably pay !
Lilly
We may as well go back to the coupon booklet. It’d probably be less expensive in the long run.🫤
Theresa
I still have a partial booklet of ride coupons from the 1970’s
Sarah
If you pay these ridiculous fees YOUARE THE PROBLEM
Jayne
Agree totally!

I waited in line instead. I would rather spend my $$$ on something else instead.

Disney might as well start letting people in for free and charging for individual rides.
Anonymous
They used to charge for individual rides back in the early days. They stopped doing that in the 80s
Loraine Smith
I’d pay it but I’d be visiting from Australia once off and I’m a Star wars fanatic!
Patti
They should have kept the virtual queue and controlled the wait time this way, we should not have to wait in extremely long lines or have to pay more.

Every day, Disney oversells admission to the park….I was there a month ago and there were just too many people.

I right people were boycott ing them due to them worshipping corporate greed????
