This isn’t the only change guests can expect to see at Tokyo Disney in the coming months and years. The resort recently confirmed the return of “it’s a small world with Groot,” a Marvel-inspired overlay of the classic boat ride. Starting December 27, 2025, “it’s a small world with Groot” will take over the attraction.

Tokyo Disney’s “it’s a small world with Groot” originally began on January 15, 2025, and ran through June 30. The new take on the classic ride features a variety of Marvel characters, all of whom carry on the same endearing styling of the original “It’s a Small World.”

“Groot from the Guardians of the Galaxy series and his friends from Marvel Studios’ movies will be visiting Earth,” reads the official announcement on the Tokyo Disney Resort website. “Look forward to meeting friends from all over the world and spending the holidays surrounded by children!”

Tokyo Disney is also rebuilding its version of Space Mountain. This project is part of a wider effort to revitalize Tokyo Disneyland’s Tomorrowland, though the star of the show is the completely redesigned Space Mountain.

Gone is the iconic white color palette, and in its place comes a sleeker, more organic, but still futuristic-looking space roller coaster. The project is expected to be completed by 2027.
