Another death at one of Walt Disney World Resort’s most luxurious hotels has been ruled a suicide. According to authorities, a 28-year-old man died last week after jumping from a building at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. This was the third tragic death at the Central Florida Disney destination in just ten days.

Last Thursday, Inside the Magic reported that dozens of emergency responders, including an ambulance, were spotted at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

Roadways were blocked, and, according to guests staying at the Magic Kingdom-area Disney Resort hotel, Disney cast members instructed families not to look out the rear-facing windows. Guests also reported that a white tent, towel carts, and other hotel property were used to block the view of the scene.

On Monday, a representative for the Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office told TMZ that on October 23, 2025, 28-year-old Matthew Cohn died from multiple traumatic injuries after falling from Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. His manner of death was ruled a suicide. According to The Sun, Cohn paid in cash on the evening of Wednesday, October 22, and checked into a room on the 12th floor.

This tragedy follows two other deaths at Walt Disney World Resort in recent weeks. On October 14, reports circulated about a potential Monorail collision at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and guests were evacuated from the area. However, authorities later revealed that a 31-year-old woman named Summer Equitz had died by suicide after falling from a balcony at the Disney Resort hotel. The Monorail did not collide with the guest.

Just days later, on October 21, authorities responded to reports of a “person down” at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campgrounds. It was later confirmed that a man in his 60s had died of natural causes after suffering a medical episode at the Walt Disney World Resort hotel.
