You people are absolute garbage who despise Disney. “Calls into question guest safety”? F$&k you. One unstable person decides, for whatever reason, to unfortunately take her life, and a 2nd poor guy probably had a heart attack canoeing or bike riding or whatever and these are Disney’s fault!? You’re nothing but trolls and thankfully most rational people know it.
Why are you mad at them for reporting the facts? This kind of thing is unheard of for a Disney Property and is extremely alarming and unfortunate. They had very few deaths before but they have become more frequent in recent years
No business should be expected to monitor a person or groups of people for suicide or mental health issues. These businesses are not meant to monitor health issues of clients. It’s the responsibility of guests to monitor their own health. Businesses are responsible for maintaining safe standards.
Actually it is their business when on their property. This kind of thing didn’t happen before and shows something must change with Disneys response to this.
I believe these incidents are unrelated and not in any way Disney’s fault. I am not sure how they can monitor the mental health or the physical health of their guests. While they are both tragedies they aren’t related to Disney any more than if a bird flew through the park and got eaten by another bird or animal. Probably less so in fact. As someone who has had 2 family members needing medical assistance at the parks on 2 separate occasions I can say they are super attentive and swift in their care. One was a Disney caused injury and one was a freak thing. In both cases they were super prompt in getting medical care to the individual. My guess is it was the same for these people as well but unfortunately it was too late for them. It is sad but not noteworthy as far as being because of Disney in any way.
What do these have to do with Disney? Someone commits suicide and it’s Disney’s fault? It’s ludicrous. And someone dies possibly from a heart attack or whatever and it’s Disney’s fault? Maybe you should work for one of those rags – the ones who talk about aliens, etc.
More sensationalized reporting. Ft Wilderness is anything but remote. Sure, the guest may feel remote but in reality it borders the four seasons resort. Millions of guests every year, I’m surprised they don’t have 2 deaths every week.
It is a shame that 2 people passed away:
One by suicide – again not a Disney issue, it was a poor person that had mental issues as noted by newspapers.
The other was a trama that happens on a daily basis unfortunately. To bring Disney into the limelight and “what could Disney have done ?” Nothing! Being thrown from a roller coaster,
hanging upside down in a roller coaster, a fight that occurs and results in a death, these are problems that the PARKS must look at. But to say Disney must do something to protect their quest from natural cases or mental issues is NOT Disney’s issue.
And newspapers, and haters love to throw in there Disney is not protecting their quest. Bull, Disney does more than any operation I know. A company had an employee go out for lunch and never came back, no idea what happen, they thought he quit, left the company, he died of a illegal drug induced reaction.
The family sued the company for damages and negligence, they lost, as it should be. People looking for free money.
Very unfortunate and it’s extremely alarming how frequently these deaths are occurring. This virtually never happened before and shows Disney needs to do a better job of monitoring and assisting guests as best they can. It’s just unacceptable for this to become a normal occurrence at the Magic Kingdom and it needs to be addressed immediately.

Totally inappropriate and tasteless comment. Mental illness is not joke material.
