Not ‘feels like a setback’… is an actual setback.

However what you do not mention is that there is already federal law on the books that airlines have to compensate travelers for housing and food if they are already at their destination and their return flight is canceled.

At your local airline going to your vacation destination? Sorry: You have to head home yourself.

If people didn’t abuse services like this, then it wouldn’t be a problem. The other day a woman was chewing out the airline attendant because she wanted food & hotel vouchers when it wasn’t even lunch & other flights were available. People thinking that they’re entitled to whatever they want & not wanting any setbacks in their plans/products/schedules are what mess up customer service offers. To those people I say “welcome to real life – it’s not all about you!”

Delays are inconvenient but mother nature happens and so do mechanical problems. I would rather put up with that then crash. Read all the airlines policy before booking.

What a bunch of political horse hockey! These FAA ‘rules’ were only recently put in place by the previous administration – the ink on the regulations hardly had enough time to dry. Stop with the freak outs.

“ALL” Disney World vacations affected. Hardly. Who writes this nonsense? How many visitors arrive by private automobiles or aircraft? The parking spaces at the various parks suggest that a lot of guests did not parachute in. Also, Disney is no stranger to cutting benefits; witness the shutdown of the previously free transportation from ORL to DW, now replaced by $200 one way “Minnie Vans.” This is “much ado about nothing.” Time to spare, go by air.

I would like to know what that Federal Law is that says that airlines have to compensate for hotels and food. The last time I was at Disneyworld my Spirit flight, which was on Saturday evening, was cancelled and they offered me a flight the following Tuesday. No compensation at all. We rented a car and drove home to Pittsburgh. 14 hours and $400 to rent the vehicle.

That is why travellers need to buy travel insurance. So much can go wrong with airplanes. If you drive your car could break down. If you bus the bus could break down. So flying cancellations are just incidents like any other modes of transport.
Pay the extra for travel insurance and that is that.

How strange/funny that folks vote against their own interests.
