“The Most Magical Place on Earth” will never look the same.

Big things are happening inside Disney’s theme parks, specifically Walt Disney World, with new rides, attractions, lands, restaurants, shows, and other experiences on the way. Disney is constantly upgrading and overhauling its theme parks, but 2025 marks an especially unprecedented time for both Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
In Florida, work is underway to replace several conic locations. Fans said goodbye to classic attractions like Muppet*Vision 3D and Tom Sawyer Island this summer. Other classic experiences, like It’s Tough to Be a Bug, closed earlier this year.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is getting a new location, one inspired by Pixar’s Monsters Inc. film. Called Monstropolis, this new area will offer several new attractions, including a suspended roller coaster.

Magic Kingdom is also getting the Pixar treatment in the form of Piston Peak, a new area based on the Cars franchise.
Alongside Piston Peak, Magic Kingdom will also be the home to a new Villains land, something that’s been rumored for the park for decades. A land dedicated to Disney’s most iconic bad guys seems like a no-brainer, but only a few attractions have ever featured characters like Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Jafar front and center.
This changes with Magic Kingdom’s Villains Land, which will emphasize some of Disney’s most iconic characters. Little is known about this project, as Disney has kept quiet regarding what guests can expect from Villains Land. Concept art released last year points toward an immersive and expansive land, one headlined by all kinds of attractions.

Half of Animal Kingdom’s DinoLand U.S.A. closed permanently this January, and the other half will close permanently in February, 2026. Eventually, this area of the park will be known as Tropical Americas, a bold and fresh new land featuring several new rides and attractions.
With so much change on the way, it’s easy to feel worried. Many fans have pushed back against the idea of replacing iconic attractions. Petitions have been signed, tweets have been tweeted, and discussions have been had, but Disney is focusing on the future despite some rather harsh criticism.
Only time will tell what Walt Disney World looks like ten years from now, but it’s certainly an exciting time for “The Most Magical Place on Earth.”
Changes are also in store for Disneyland, with the iconic Southern California theme park resort getting its own new wave of rides, attractions, and expansions.
At the top of this list is a new Avatar land. Similar to Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disneyland’s new Avatar expansion will immerse guests in the world of James Cameron’s epic science fiction franchise.
