Their must ensure their enough clearance between ride vehicle and any fixed object ( pillars, posts, structures) should a guest happen to lean over side of car while in proper ride restraints.
The man was over 18 and wanted to ride. At some point, the person or people with him need to step up and take responsibility for his actions that they allowed. They knew he had a spinal cord injury from a previous event not linked to the park. Common sense should have said don’t get on the ride. Obviously they lacked that ability. Is it the park’s job to talk someone out of getting on the rides? No. Are there warning signs everywhere? Yes. It’s on them not the park.
Crum represented Tyre’s family in a different situation. The company had altered the ride. That wasn’t done here.
While I’m sorry that the gentleman died, it was not Universal’s fault. He chose to get on the ride. Granted, he may not have thought it would be as intense or whatnot (I don’t know if it’s intense or not), but he still chose to ride. The girlfriend could have easily told him that she didn’t think he should ride. The sad thing, besides a death, is that some money hungry lawyer and a greedy family are now going to sue Universal and probably get a big payout just to keep it from going to court.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t he have prior medical issues and was also taking medication(s) which may have caused him to suffer some sort of medical emergency while the attraction was in motion? A grown man makes a decision to not heed posted signage. Yep it certainly sounds like Universal’s fault!🤔🤣
All BS. When are people in this world going to take responsibility for their OWN decisions and actions. No, the family is so distraught they immediately go running to an ambulance chaser attorney looking for a windfall BS lawsuit! Where was the family when HE decided and THEY LET HIM get on the ride? Gimme a break. The dude killed HIMSELF by not following directions and warnings.
I’ve been on this ride. I don’t believe blunt force trauma. You’re strapped in so tight you can’t move.
Really? well it is Florida the sue happy state, no controls on litigation, no tort reform, insurance is already bad enough, and here comes what? a sick person on drugs, refuses to obey all ride restrictions, passes away and now all of us get to suffer for it. Sorry, whats next? no more popcorn, Ice cream or snacks because people can’t control themselves? How many riders have been on the ride with no issues?? I am sure the cameras can show how many read the warning signs and deferred riding……..wow unbelievable.
What about his further medical conditions? Was something else going on with him and his life? Why assume that it is the rides problem? As as adult you make your own decisions and there were ample warnings and screenings PRIOR to getting on the ride and why didnt the girlfriend ride it as well? TOo many questions on BOTH sides to have answers. Crumb said the family ONLY wants TRANSPARENCY lets wait and see.
We used to love going to Universal and Disney World. But ever since my wife had her accident at work and really messed up her neck and back, we don’t go nomore because she doesn’t want to make matters worse. Ignoring warning signs and not listening to your Dr is noway Universals fault. The ride had been gone over with a fine tooth comb, and nothing was at fault with the ride. I think what happened was he may have passed out because of the speed or because of drinking or taking his pain meds. And his head went to bouncing off everything.
When will grown a$$ people start taking responsibility for their own decisions and actions! Having had a serious neck injury years ago and being a theme park aficionado, I knew better than to jump on any attraction with signage stating PEOPLE WITH HEART, BACK OR NECK INJURIES OR PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULDN’T RIDE! I’m currently employed at a theme park as an attractions operator and it amazes me how many people disregard the posted warnings and get on the attractions!
Comments for Manslaughter Investigation Launched at Epic Universe, Family of Guest Who Died Hires Lawyer

Why would the family hire a civil rights attorney? Were his civil rights violated? They hire good old Ben $$$$$ Crump. What do you think comes next?

Rujek Crost
That has be done already and the ride was found to be structurely sound.

Hopefully some of the answers they seem to be withholding from the public.

He died of blunt impacts, not a medical condition. There might be a connection, but you have ZERO evidence for such a claim as the situation stands.

He rode it 6 times without incident. Why have you ASSUMED he was at fault? The evidence says otherwise.

He killed himself by sustaining blunt impact injuries?

Do you have ANY evidence of a connection between his condition and the MULTIPLE BLUNT IMPACTS that killed him? The answer is NO.
Shame on this website for allowing repulsive comments like these. I hope the family sues some of you for defamation.
